Basic 5.3 liter it’s plenty quick enough drives like a car to me. I had driven 2500s for 10 years. I recommend good luck with whatever you choose

If you’re spending 60k, why not 75k? Or they’re really at a 40k budget with hopes of 60k+ trucks. Which is the next level.

With your description of being a Tech fan, I don't know what truck prices are like in Ruston or North LA, but a $20,000 truck in Baton Rouge will have a TON of miles, paint/body issues, or both.

I do need to start looking for a vehicle if I move. Thinking about either a pathfinder 2015 xterra. It’s been a great vehicle. Even with 2012 miles I’ll probably be driving it from AK to the East Coast if I move.

Id get a sierra. They have the nicest luxury features to their truck. Totota is usually good and reliable but their interiors lake especially for the price. Im not paying 60k though. They can keep that shite

Loved the hell out of my 19 Ram before it was wrecked. If I ever buy another brand new truck, it'll be another Ram

Bc that is what he wants. OP wasn’t asking if it’s a smart move. Op isn’t asking for money advice. Op is asking for opinions on a $60 truck.

Ram hands down. Drove all of them ended up with the 2020 Ram Laramie trim.

Was 40k in 2019

Silverado LTZ/RST or Sierra SLt/Elevation with the Baby Duramax.

Should be able to get money off MSRP. GMC dealer near me has a few marked down 5 to 7k. You can find even cheaper online if willing to travel.

Then teach him he's wasting money. Buy something for 40k and put the other 20k in an index fund.

I’m going to take a wild guess that he doesn’t have $60k hanging around and will be paying $1000/month on it for a while.

Perhaps he has a car allowance from work. Or maybe he saved up $ for a while to finally buy a new truck. You never know the situation.

And let’s face it, for those saying put $20k in an index fund and buy used…nobody can predict the future but $20K in an index fund probably -7% last 12 months. And not sure if everyone aware what the used market looked a year ago. Who is to say that is really a smart move?

Yeah the price of new vs. used trucks is not the same as it is for cars.

You are still paying nmid 50'ss for a one/two year old truck with low miles.
