“We do not want to be diverse”
This is essentially what they said in the hit piece:
Hungary is terrible.
Hungary is racist.
Hungary is a bunch of Nazis.
Christianity is bad.
Incentivizing married, young, non-homo people have as many children as possible is somehow bad.
The have a wall.
Poor refugees.
quote:
A program in Hungary is offering cash to couples for having kids, but the reasoning for it echoes some of Europe's darkest chapters. Jon Wertheim reports on the anti-immigrant motivation to "keep Hungary Hungarian."

frick those no skilled immigrants.
Poland doesn't play the EU's game. And France has offered French couple tens of thousands to have children. But the 30ish year olds are 2 hip to have children, and the no skilled African/Syrian immigrants are destroying their Cities.

Yet we’re told we have to become more like France, Germany, and Italy.

Hungary for Hungarians, what a novel concept.
The fact that more european nations aren’t like this after what happened in the 20th century is incredible to me.

I watched the piece.
You have a very jilted perception if that’s what you took from it.

And yet we wonder how places like Sweden are successful with socialism (and they aren't socialist the way we define it). We wonder how does Japan have so much industry and partnerships?
If I gave you the answer, I would be banned.

Hungary NEVER wanted to be part of the chaos that is Europe. They were perfectly content with isolationism before Napoleon swept across the continent. They never wanted to be part of the mandated Dual Monarchy and were elated when it was dissolved after WWI. Likewise, Poland has always been screwed because of their location in proximity to Russia, Germany, and Austria. Now that their borders are protected, they can kind of do their own thing. Good for them for seeing things as they are.

Hungary is where I believe Alexander the Great's empire started if you ran it west to east to India.

Maybe Hungary wants to finally be left alone.
They were under the reign of the Hapsburgs for centuries, then the Austrian—Hungarian Empire was controlled by the Austrians, then the country was carved up after WW1, then under communist control after WW2.
Now some American reporter thinks he should interfere because he knows better.
People on the left and right, across Europe, and now the US, always seem to want to have power over Hungary.
