Jacob Hall, a 6-year-old student shot this week at Townville Elementary School, has died.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore told the Independent Mail that Jacob died this afternoon at Greenville Health System Children's Hospital.

Jacob died at 12:56 p.m., Shore said.

Investigators with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office say the teen killed his father Wednesday at their home on Osborne Road before heading to the school about 3 miles away.

Jacob was shot and at least one bullet pierced his femoral artery. His family said Thursday that he had suffered a severe brain injury and was on life support.

Senseless.

Jesus that is so sad.

I haven't been following this closely but is this the one where the firefighter tackled the shooter?

Stories like this remind me that people who believe in "God's plan" are uncureable

Religion is great. I'm referring more to blind faith

I watch the news every morning. My job pays me to be on social media. I didn't even hear about this shooting until this thread popped up. That's not as sad as a 6 year old losing his life but it's pretty god damn ridiculous that this is just an everyday occurrence now and it doesn't even cross my radar.

It was on the national news the day it happened. You're right though, it got buried quickly.

I agree. The media more concerned about what Trump is tweeting at 3am than stories like this. The world is completely upside down.

RIP little guy.

this is why life in prison is a joke

And the death penalty is a f'in joke.

When the case is 100% cut and dry, you get 1 appeal, to be heard within 6months, once it's heard, u fricking die

tired of seeing all these cocksucking killers on supposed death row, just living off the tax payers. filing fraudulent appeals, and wasting space.

I guess when you have 1 presidential election every 4 years it outweighs having 4 major shootings every month. May be a bit of an exaggeration but probably not.
