The DUI and child neglect charges weren’t part of the initial arrest based on news releases from the STPSO. Are they trying to avoid a lawsuit to throw out the remaining charges? Seems likely

In my world, every cop I've met is dumb. Most cops I hear talk in public are dumb. And the guys I went to highschool with who became cops were all dumb (which is why they became cops and didn't go to college or trade school)
But please link these "numerous studies" and maybe I'll change my opinion.

Stupid question - but what happens to someone who hits and kills a child while driving (let’s say he jutted out in front at the last minute or was in a blind spot), they stop and call 911 and help the child?
I just don’t understand why a person wouldn’t stop and help the child they hit in this situation (unless they were drunk and knew they were getting vehicular homicide - in which case they are just a horrible person all around).
