I have 14 in, with at least 11 to go. I want to make some more moves, but I am not sure about constantly moving my kids. My oldest is 7 and he has lived in 4 different states. I want to stay in the Southeast or maybe go back to Texas.

You're probably dead on, it's really sad, and of course you know they don't think there is one God damn thing wrong with it either.

Why pick this thread to spout dumb shite like that, you can't just be happy for someone finally reaching retirement after working their assess off?

Did you get raped with a baton or something? I'm far from the biggest cop fan but can still appreciate someone sticking with a difficult job for 25 years and reaching retirement

I don't appreciate any mans 'career' except my own

He chose that job, so why not stick with it? These are usually people who don't attend college, why are we praising them?

There's some major misconceptions in this thread. There's a huge difference between Federal LEO and local/state cops, from pay to education to mission.

I have more than 10 years in as a Federal LEO and as a GS-13, Step 6, with overtime and holiday pay, etc, I'm well into 6 figures. I don't say this to brag but there's a big difference in the alphabet soup agencies and the average county sheriff's deputy in pay. With that pay comes greater requirements in education (everyone in my office has at least a bachelor's and many have Master's degrees) and the job is very different.

To the people that think your average federal agent is an overly aggressive, shite for brains a-hole that dropped out of high school, you couldn't be more wrong. We don't wear uniforms or drive marked units and don't hide behind billboards giving speeding tickets to little old ladies. Investgation work is a humbling experience- putting a puzzle together slowly over a long period of time and it'll kick your arse. I'm sure there's a few "badge-heavy" guys out there but not nearly as many as you may think.

ETA: 12, obviously this isn't directed at you. Just responded to your post.

I think you mean teat, not teet. But sorry you feel that way. You sound bitter.

I have no idea what you even do but if you felt happy to retire after 25 years in the same field, I wouldn't hesitate to congratulate you. Don't take this personally but such strong hatred of police doesn't seem a bit immature?

i haven't shared why I feel this way, and probably never will. But I appreciate your concern. I don't find it immature. The fact that he thought people would praise him for working in this field is a reason why I can't stand LE.

That's what men do, they work a job until they decide to retire.
