All Federal LE Officers have a mandatory retirement age of 57. The stress of the job is tremendous. Dealing with idiots like Caplewood and Mike D take a toll. I am a college grad and grew up in Louisiana. I have worked my tail off and have paid my dues. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. If anyone has an issue with it look me up and we can discuss it.

This war is being continued and funded by individuals that meet all but one of you're other criteria.
The LEO is a pawn in the game.

Yup. Have you ever hung out with a retired cop?
Plenty and I can honestly say I've never seen anything like that before. The retired LEO's that I've been around were very humble, older guys who went out of their way to avoid bullshite. Guess they'd seen enough of it.

How exactly will a cop help me when I have a gun pointed at my head? Also will he unrape my wife? Pretty terrible examples you put forth there chief

That a threat officer? You don't have the blue line protecting you anymore. You are as subject to jail as the rest of us.

You are just perpetuating the dumbass banty rooster cop stereotype. Violence always your first option... No surprise as its pretty obvious how ignorant you really are

I haven't decided if I will get out when I hit 25 years. I guess it depends on what I have lined up. I am going to start teaching a college course next semester. I am hoping that will be my second career. I hear you about getting out to a normal life. The Feds have been good to me, but it seems to get worse every year. Congrats on getting out a good time.

PM, preventive maintenance.
They won't prevent all murders or worse, but they deter with a certain amount of presence. They keep crime out of your Stepford world.
Granted, plenty of proof that presence doesn't deter all crime. If you announce that their is no longer protection you get situations such as Katrina.
So yeah, you will be a badass killing mofo's with your Kimber until you realize you are now the LEO protecting your life the whole time.
Personally, let them collect their shitty wages and retire early. I don't want the job.

I have lived a LOT. Trust me on this one. Very very few will have done as much as me and almost none taken as many chances as me. When I say it's luck that I'm still alive, it is. Go back and do the same things again and it's 50/50 I would say if I make it the second time as I've skated the literal life or death line a few times.
As for a bad situation, cops just aren't gonna get there fast enough to save me 90% of the time is my guess and I'll count on me.
That isn't an slam on cops either. It's reality and I deal in reality.

I can respect that.

How does your pension work? MPERS allows you 50% of the avg of your top 4 years in MS. So assuming you avged $50k, you'd receive only $25k a year. How does one live on that at 51?
