No it’s not, do you ever bother to try and google anything:

“Recently, LDWF has had to respond to several fake news articles, one regarding increased fishing fines and, most recently, the supposed forced closure of hunting and fishing season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

None of it is true.

Any valid information regarding LDWF actions is on our website at www.wlf.la.gov or our Facebook page at LINK Please verify the accuracy of any information at these sites before sharing it on social media.

If I were governor of louisiana and I HAD to get my constituents rioting mad, I would ban fishing and alcohol and make attempts to enforce it.

The chinese navy could be sailing upriver guns blazing and baws would still be running southwest pass in dinky bay boats

The public boat launches here are packed with people. They'd make a killing in fines if this fine bs was real.

Luckily we have our own launch. We live on the river and can fish from our porch. Even if they made us stay in the house, i can fish from my living room.

I got people who are begging to come quarantine with us here at the camp.

I got one in Mississippi about 10 years ago. It was 231.00. I had two Barbie R/R’s that I was casting for my kids. “ Well sir, When I pulled up it was in your hand.” What a D bag. I would have argued with him but I though it may have been a $50 fine.
Dad got a $90 ticket back in the late 1970's for similar. He just came along when Grandad took me and an older sister to some of Toledo Bend river bottoms. Private land, road access gated and locked (Grandad knew the land owners and they brought him a key whenever lock changed. He fished every day for 25 years before he got too old, except Sundays because Grandma. Made the Shreveport news several times as one of reporters looked for him on the shoreline as an indicator of whether to stay and fish or move way down lake.)

Anyway, early Spring, bass were spawning and guarding nests, Dad took sis's rod for just a couple minutes to try to get a hawg to bite. He looked up to see Green Jeans walking down the road towards me and Granddad. That's when Dad found out his chest waders had a leak and that Green Jeans is smart enough to stand on the dry ground and wait a feller out from the still really chilly water to lighten said fellers wallet.
