Mr. Mayor, tear down these statues.

Three men armed with guns invaded a New Year's Eve party in the Hollygrove neighborhood and stole cash and credit cards, New Orleans police said. The stickup occurred just after 9 p.m. in the 3400 block of Mistletoe Street.
The victims were three males ages 31, 30 and 16 and a 44-year-old woman, according to a preliminary police report. The robbers stole a total of $100, credits cards and two of the victims' identification cards.

So where are the "Black Lives Matter" crowd? Guess they really don't give a damn when the shooter is black.
This is a myth that racists love to perpetuate. Fact of the matter is, there are numerous rallies, conferences, local initiatives across the country, and so on and so forth. They don't get nearly the same media attention.

You think the riots after police shootings that literally shut down cities and interstates, the crowds that gather for days in parks to protest civilian killings, the organization that busses in people from all over to protest the killing of a black person by a white person....you think that crowd of people and it's organizers give two shits about this shooting last night. Or the 160+ murders in nola last year?
People spoke and protested for weeks to remove the statues. They gathered at city hall and had televised open debates with the city council about how to handle them.
Do you see that in reference or regard to black on black violence in the ghettos of our city?
No.
It's not racist propaganda. It's fact. There is more light and attention shed on some of the most trivial bullshite in this country than the things that really need that attention. Education, crime, poverty, government assistance, etc... None of that gets the attention from the media down to the average citizen that some of the most outer fringe causes get.
If people put half of the effort and time and money they spent protesting and demonstrating for the statues to be torn down into pushing and forcing the city council to respond to crime and lack of NOPD funding and education deficiency in this city we might actually accomplish a net positive for the future.

Are these victims too wealthy to have Driver's Licenses?

but I guess the section 8 slum lords love it all too much to sell out.
Section 8 is the worst government program. Really wish a candidate would address it.

It helps that black on black crime has dropped sharply over the past 20 years. Black neighborhoods are safer than 10 years ago and 20 years ago.

Liberals are at it again
Why are they always shooting each other and innocent people.

You try too hard. What's your point. In the ghetto parts of N.O., not much has changed. And none of them really give a shite either.

Untill situations like this become anomalies the reduction in black on black crime is as noteworthy as baton rouge loop proposals

Everything around that area has been getting better and better.
It is, and its proximity to the CBD and St Charles means the bangers got to go.

Not excusing it but that's a real hood area of central city. Some of the blocks look straight out of a war torn nation in that small pocket
If only we could tear down those statues. The lower 9 and Central City would look like...

Yeah. Well they are...it's being dramatically expanded and should be coming to a neighborhood near you soon

Statues.... Rabble rabble
The ineffectual, crooked city government deserves no less.
