Know it very well but this was on the other side of Washington where the demarcation for central city ends. This is uptown territory. Milan/Amelia/Dryades is uptown. This wasn't OC Haley/Dryades area

This was uptown in a gentrifying area. Lot of professionals live in this vicinity. Not the East, 7th, or 9th ward.

It's just as historically bad as those areas. Thugs don't just stop shooting because a few professionals now live around the corner

Instead of Washington a lot of people say Central City ends at Louisiana.

That said, wasn't this shooting upriver of Louisiana? If so no way in hell that is in Central City.

So where are the "Black Lives Matter" crowd?

Black lives only matter if a white guy or a cop is the shooter.

Well, thugs get confused as to their location while shooting some times.
That area is known for bad things happening, I pass thru it almost daily and you can see the potential in the streets.

Vicinity, sure. But you wouldn't walk the block in the daylight at this point. That area is shrinking but get more than about 3 blocks off St Charles on Amelie and its dicey and has a ton of blight. Make it about 5-6 blocks off st Charles on that street you'd think you were right in one of those neighborhoods (estimated block counts)

I just looked on Zillow at the are the shooting occurred in. These little houses are going for 120 to 145.

If someone is buying them and renting them Section 8, it is a fairly long term investment to get any return. This does not even count the damage that will be done that has to be fixed.

How is it financially feasible to buy anything in there?

When the dust settles, the price will soar, it's like the depression.
If you can afford it buy it, look how that turned out.

You know, reading something like this is a real shame. My SO and I were in town for the holidays, and walking around the FQ and driving through Mid City we thought "man, maybe moving back to NOLA is in the cards." Then you read something like this...it's truly a shame. Great city plagued by violence and awful roads.

I know, I know, in before the NOLA apologists chime in with the "well we don't want you here" and "good, stay out" comments.
