I would imagine the Baton Rouge Country Club has enough access to resources to keep it where it is. Also, I would think keeping the country club members happy would have a better effect on the cities taxes long-term than adding a couple streets.

580 “white” members vs. the City or Parish or whatever. And thousands being bottlenecked in traffic around Essen, on Airline and beyond.
How’s this going to play politically as the future rolls around. Not well. Urban Country Clubs aren’t really a growth industry.

The ‘government’ has the power to expropriate. The wishes of a few biscuit eaters on Saturday morning don’t age well as traffic continues to worsen.
This is 2019, not 1950. It’s not anything but a reality of life, like it or not.

I heard the BRCC voted to be annexed into SG when it’s all said and done. Broome got wind of it and dropped her plan to build the CC Thruway connecting Essen to Wood dale so BRCC decided to stay unincorporated.

It’s not old. This is hot on the agenda. The power has shifted to CCLA and Highland, but that doesn't matter. What matters is this:
A Country Club generates very little tax dollars. 500 new homes, plus new businesses, plus the connector road, economic stimulation, and traffic congestion alleviation is a huge plus for a City/Parish and politicians.
There is all this ‘love’ of a private ‘Country Club’ that is smack dab in the middle of a highly congested traffic route.
Do you think that the millions in annual tax revenue, plus the voters who will use the road give two shits about a fricking Country Club?
Most internal polling data suggests to do this would be more popular with voters for all these reasons, not just the obvious economic boost.
The powers behind the financing of these projects are well into it. They aren’t sitting in the 19th hole gossiping about ‘the OT Lounge.’ These are power players on finance, construction, municipal bonds, and the like.
They don’t give two shits about all the other noise, like Bocage, who hit a hole in one, and who is popular. This is not a troll post. Wake up or not. I don’t give a frick.

Again, this whole prior ownership of land issue seems to be proving difficult for you to grasp.
