Does anyone else besides me realize that the President is up there right now, right in the Bering Straight?

U.S. taxpayers paid for them so we might as well see if they operate properly.

The thought of going to actual war with the US, especially trying to actually have that war over here, would make other countries shite their pants

Am I the only one who doesn't think this is a big deal in any way? We conduct naval exercises off the maritime boundary of damn near every nation with ocean access. Are we to be the only ones allowed to do so? How many times a year do we run exercises in the South China Sea, between the mainland and Taiwan?

Our military basically consists of people of Hispanic and African American origin anyway... It's like it's not even an "American" military anymore

We fly recon missions literally within 1 mile of russian airspace every day up there with RC-135's and awacs

This isn't a big deal fwiw. People like to get antsy down here

ETA: a childhood friend of mine who is now a russian linguist actually flies with my dad now up there. Small world. Makes for some interesting stories

The amount of firepower we have at Elmendorf AFB is ridiculous. The last place you need to be worried about foreign ships being is the Bering Sea
