I’m coming from an old shitty top load washer (don’t know capacity) and am debating between the LG WM5000HV and WM9000HV washers. It seems the only difference is 4.5 vs 5.2 capacity.

Which is the better one to get? Will 4.5 be enough or no? Will 5.2 be too much and not perform as well on smaller loads?

Get another top loader. Front loaders suck. Thank me later.

They hold water and mildew the gaskets, you have to dry out the gaskets every time and leave the door open to air dry to avoid this. If you don't put them on stands you have to bend way over to move the clothes. And they don't wash as good as a top loader since they try to conserve water.

I just bought a 5.3 top load and my wife loves it.

Front load sucks. I will never buy another on. Bad thing is I remodeled laundry room to have it. When this one does I’m going to remodel laundry room again to get rid of the damn thing.

You can’t fit a queen size comforter in a 4.5. That’s about the only major difference

Edit: don’t go with a front load

This is where mine is at now. I bought one based off how another one I had for years never had this problem. Must be an older better design. My parents had one for 10 years or better and then gave it to me. I ran it for another 5-6 years without ever having mold. Then when I moved into first house, I decided to get a new set and gave that old set to someone less fortunate. As far as I know that washer is still running at almost 20 years old. This new one molded up after about a year... Maybe check out the commercial speed queens or something, otherwise get a top load.

This is how I know you don’t know shite. Anything that is old and top load >>>>> anything new that is front load.

Top load speed queen is where it’s at....your boyfriend won’t think it’s sexy, but his clothes will be clean and won’t smell.

I just switched from a nasty smelling front load to a Maytag 5.3 c/ft top loader. Couldn’t be happier. Will never buy another front loader.

My ex got the front loader in the divorce. LOL! I was happy. Bought a top loader to replace that POS.

For those pumping the speed queens...did you know they changed their design in 2018? And apparently not for the better... LINK

You will be tossing the front loader in the trash heap when you see the results of the first washed load. Put a neat folded handkerchief in there and it will still be folded when it finishes its cycle. Oh, and good luck keeping the mildew off of the door seals.

All of these things said in this thread is the problems my mother had with her. She still liked to knock the 400 dollar Kenmore set I bought. It does a good job and was cheap. Also, I can't fix shite but I can follow a YouTube video and repair it if needed. None of those damn computer boards to worry about
