I don't profess to be any kind of anti-vax guy but I will comment on being wary of tamiflu. Many, many kids, including my 3 year old, are allergic to it. It's much more common than you think. When you are trying to prevent the flu and your child gets sicker because of the medicine given to help, it kind of makes you cautious.
Can confirm. I found out I was allergic to Tamiflu last year. Throat started to swell up and almost closed on me. Be aware of the side effects and watch out for them.

Its scary thinking ppl like this have kids under their care. My wife's brother in law has a fricked up scar from when he was little, he had a bad accident and his parents prayed over him instead of taking him in for stitches.

The people in that Facebook Group are idiots. I despise anti-vaxxers. With that said tamiflu is somewhat controversial especially with kids. My kids’ pediatricians (plural bc we’ve moved) are 100% pro vaccinations but don’t prescribe tamiflu for testing positive with the flu. Typically tamiflu reduces flu symptoms by like 8 hours on average for kids. I am going off memory but could be off a little. The slight reduction in flu symptoms isn’t worth the side effects of the med. with that said, the pediatricians typically give guidelines of how to manage the fever and at what point to bring the kid to the ER. My kids have had the flu. fluids and rest and occasional ibuprofen do the trick. No potatoes in the socks!

105 degree temp and febrile seizures but you don’t take your kid to the fricking hospital?
Bitch should be taken behind the woodshed and shot
My wife and I are non-interventionists and try to avoid putting anything in our bodies that isn't food and preferably unmolested(organic) but what this mom did is tonedeaf and fricking retarded. We haven't had the need to take ourselves or our kids to the doctor or hospital in over 2 years but these are exactly the kind of problems that the miracles of modern medicine and emergency rooms were invented for.
Some people are just stupid. Don't let that taint the reputation of people who are trying to live a clean lifestyle

I'm not even opposed to some natural healing techniques. My grandma was big on that type of stuff. Alot of her crazy concoctions used to work, too. The difference is she grew up in a time/context where they had no money. They could not afford to go to the doctor/hospital. They figured shite out on their own.
Thankfully my life is not anything close to the life my grandparents lived growing up. Natural methods are meant to supplement medicine, not replace it. Idiots.
Bingo.
You live a natural healthy life so you don't have to go to the hospital or the doctor. It's preventive. Hospitals, doctors and medicine are there for emergencies or when you just can't take the pain any longer. Too many people abuse the system, many of them in my own family, that run to the doctor and even the emergency room for every little cough, sniffle and sneeze. These people are part of the reason health insurance is so expensive and why, the once in a blue moon when I need to see a doctor for an actual emergency, I have to make an appointment and wait a week.

Was coming to post the same type response. My 5 year old daughter got the flu a month ago, and we tried giving her tamiflu. She projectile vomited several times in response after saying she felt worse. Doctor said don’t give her anymore, she’s allergic to it and could have a bad reaction.
I’m all on board with slamming the anti vax group, but I don’t think not taking tamiflu necessarily fits in with that argument. It isn’t the end all/be all response to the flu.

You are asking the wrong question. It’s not about symptom reduction. It’s about reducing the severe cases that result in hospitalization and death. Especially in vulnerable groups like kids under 5 and very important in kids under 2.

A retrospective cohort study using a large health data of the US found that oseltamivir treatment twice daily could reduce pneumonia risk by 32% In addition, oseltamivir reduces the symptoms of flu, antibiotic uses, complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia, and death. The oseltamivir treatment may reduce nearly 60% of the secondary spread of influenza in family members who have contacted with the patient.

So she went to the DR to get them tested for Flu and received Tamiflu but did not take her children to the hospital when they had a seizure? Hmm. Sounds pretty fake to me.

The issue here is not seeking emergency medical care.
I think the Facebook group should be charged as accessories.

Tamiflu is horrible. I took that shite a few years ago after being diagnosed with the flu. It really fricked me up.
Now I only take OTC stuff. Tamiflu is effectively useless IMO.
Of course I'm not going to take elderberry. Give me Alka-seltzer cold and flu any day.

Usually when someone comments they have a clue. But that ain’t case. I bet you didn’t read the article.
I read the article fightingBobby, and it’s all based on information from her gofundme. If she called 911 right after the seizure then why does she have a post asking people what other remedies to use because she doesn’t want the kid to have another seizure?

by the time anyone could diagnose flu in a 4 yr old, tamiflu is useless.
On a different note though, Tamiflu isn’t some great cure.
It probably wouldn’t have made a difference here.
What didn’t help this child is her mother not bringing her to the hospital and relying on natural remedies like an idiot.

After news of Najee's death broke, Cook took to his Facebook group to put the blame on Children's Hospital Colorado Springs for the tragic outcome.
"Mom says they were treated poorly by the hospital, and of course, never offered any real treatments that would have likely cured her boy," he wrote.
Shocker! These people are pure trash. I’m sure they will collect on their gofundme and file a lawsuit against the doctors.

I wouldn’t be so sure

Woman should have her other kids taken from her and she should rot in jail

As others have posted, the issue here isn’t Tamiflu but not seeking emergency care. An emergency is an emergency, period.
