So, in your feeble, meth-addled mind, do you think there’s a hierarchy of badassness based on the canine you own? Like pit bull owners are one level of badass while coyote owners are a seperate class? Where do wolf owners fall within the chain of command? What if someone owns something like a badger?

Everyone I know with a pit bull spends half their time trying to convince people they are sweet dogs. My brother got one and I told him my kids weren’t hanging out there anymore.

It's time the AVMA has a serious look at how to advise against this breed for the long term. Enough is enough.

I don't believe anybody's pet should be taken away from them. But the breed needs to be phased out. Breeders should be violated with fines or jail time.

You can change it to whatever you like. So you didn't go to USL? I'm glad you've admitted that you're using your pits to compensate for something else...

My next door neighbors have two pits. They are trying to convince the rest of the neighborhood that they're boxers. NO WAY IN HELL.

I know what a boxer is, and those two aren't even boxer mixes. They are pits.

I'm shocked. There are several people on this board that swear pit bulls are great dogs. It just seems like once a week I see a thread about a pit bull killing a child. I'm just so confused.

To each their own, but what's wrong with just getting a good lab or something?

It's a combination of stupidity, selfishness, and ego. People who own pitbulls in this day and age are the same people who refuse to move out of the left lane on the road.

I'm not here to defend pit bulls but it also sounds like they were shitty pet owners as well which doesn't help the situation at all.

First of all, shitty people are more prone to want a pit bull. Trashy people love them some pit bulls.

Secondly, bad pet owners don’t solely get just pits. They get Pomeranians, and collies, and labs, and Portuguese Water Dogs, and Scotties, but regardless of how shitty the owners are, their dogs don’t wind up killing people.

If I were king, I’d make it illegal to breed pit bulls. “If you like your pit bull, you can keep your pit bull.” Nobody would have to give up their beloved pet, but in 15 years or so, we’d be done with them.

Most pit bull attacks come from good family dogs that just "snapped" one day. The breed is a danger to everyone.

We rescued a pup that we're pretty sure is half pit. I'm not going to act like he doesn't have some innate aggressive tendencies, but we don't have kids and we know how to handle dogs. We love the idiot but it's not for everyone.

I hold a lot of hate for the "don't bully my breed" crowd because they're all trashy. They raise a-hole animals and my guy gets looped in. If your idea of owning a dog is a chain and a yard, you should probably get a fricking iguana or some other trailer park pet that doesn't require actual work.
