The gunman was not on the government’s radar, but law enforcement officials said that Mr. Abdulazeez’s father had been under investigation several years ago for possible ties to a foreign terrorist organization. At one point, a law enforcement official said that the father was on a terrorist watch list and was questioned while on a trip abroad but that he was eventually removed from the list. The official cautioned that the investigation of the father was old and did generate any information on the son.

damn, shoddy investigative work to not keep tabs on the son of a terrorist watch target. No shite that a son may be indoctrinated by his father and would be used as a pawn in a game thought to have greater meaning.

I have zero faith in our government to do anything well.

But then people would be bitching about government overreach and NSA prying too hard. Hindsight is 20/20 and things will fall through the cracks. This is tragic and terrible but you can't police everyone and everything...though in this case it was justified

Well from what we can tell the NSA has been doing all that already. This was a direct link from a known terrorist sympathizer (at minimum).

If I'm an investigator I'm keeping on eye on the terror watch targets friends and family. We already know that it's in the Koran to lie to the infidels to gain their trust and then bring terror when the time presents itself.

These dudes aren't stupid. It's probably more prudent to watch everyone around them and monitor activity of those that would be used to do things under the radar as they think.

So why can't we just watch Muslims closely? I mean we are at war against Muslims, not a nation but a type of Muslim, an ideal. Its what we did to the Japanese during WW2. Safety of American lives should be first priority, and now we have them living amongst us.One bad apple doesn't ruin the barrel but that many bad apples says something. Stay armed, trained, guns sighted and ready, American citizens are the biggest army in the world.MERICA!

Sure they have a plan. A plan to limit everyone's freedom. That's how government works. Dims and Repubs alike.

Apparently the shooter had a blog, and he only made two posts, both from July 13th.

LINK

quote:

The first post was entitled "A Prison Called Dunya," referring to the temporal world. In it, Abdulazeez uses the hypothetical example of a prisoner who is told he would be given a test that would either take him out of his earthly prison—or send him into a more restrictive environment.

"I would imagine that any sane person would devote their time to mastering the information on the study guide and stay patient with their studies, only giving time for the other things around to keep themselves focused on passing the exam," Abdulazeez wrote. "They would do this because they know and have been told that they will be rewarded with pleasures that they have never seen."

This life is that test, he wrote, "designed to separate the inhabitants of Paradise from the inhabitants of Hellfire."

quote:

The second post is called "Understanding Islam: The Story of the Three Blind Men." It suggests Abdulazeez felt his fellow Muslims had a "certain understanding of Islam and keep a tunnel vision of what we think Islam is."
He uses the example of blind men who feel an elephant but can't quite tell what the creature is. He says Muslims have a similar understanding of the earliest companions of the Prophet Muhammad. That they were "like priests living in monasteries is not true," he says; rather they were "towards the end of the lives were either a mayor of a town, governor of a state, or leader of an army at the frontlines."

"We ask Allah to make us follow their path," Abdulazeez wrote. "To give us a complete understanding of the message of Islam, and the strength the live by this knowledge, and to know what role we need to play to establish Islam in the world."

They don't want to be accused of profiling do they? That's a pretty big deal nowadays.

Someone says to be vigilante as we go about our daily lives and you want them banned? Shocker. It is spineless SJW's like you that will allow this type of stuff to fester. The only way to get rid of these types of people is to kill them. You can't reason with them or make peace with them, its us or them. Go join up with them since you already hate America so much.
