I don’t understand how schools which require freshman to live on campus end up admitting more freshman than they have space for at the time. Just dumb and happens nationwide.

Are students sticking around dorms into their sophomore and junior years now?

The dorms we’ve toured recently, at other SEC schools, are so outrageously cool I could understand.

Still, I don’t think that kids want to live there more than a year.

$3k/mo sounds high, where we’ve been it’s $1k/mo as part of your scholarship.

Just like overbooking flights. Better to fill every seat and deal with the problem after the fact than missing out on potential revenue loss from telling people it's full

Sorry, I had to edit to Hatcher Hall. Johnston was girls and dorms weren’t co-ed.

LSU and Alabama are both pushing around 40,000 students.

And TBH neither university is large enough to handle that without even more construction and staff that they already have.

LSU's sweet spot is about 32,000. It was at almost 38,000 a year ago, and will probably be closer to 40,000 this fall. They are predicting an enrollment drop in a year or two though...

So $3k/5mo. Meh, local kids may take them up.

Look for Ole Miss to explode while LSU and Alabama are both nearing maximum capacity

For LSU at least, that's about 15,000 too many.

A&M is bursting at the seams too.

Large, flagship public universities are not experiencing enrollment drops. Quite the opposite lately.

Even LSUS and LSUA are seeing gains.

They are both a bit too crowded.

The parking was great. Would park between the stadium and the dorm. Always had my car right outside the window.
I remember on cold nights we would warm up to garbage can fires.
The outlets couldn't support a microwave. But a foreman grill worked so I learned to reheat on those.

I forgot the names. There were three dorms.
Johnston was on the left. Then maybe Hatcher or Harriet was the middle.
The middle one was offices Ave the one on the right was the girls dorm.

I also used to think the Gay apartments were for Gay people. What a horrible name for apartments in the 90s.

Seedy, crappy ones and parked all over El Camino Real near Stanford. Let’s not replicate that in Louisiana if we can help it.
