Born on December 1st, 1949 and was killed on December 2nd, 1993. He was killed in the Laureles neighborhood of Medellín. Time-Out just did it's yearly coolest neighborhood survey and asked 12,000 people, Laureles was voted #1 in the world.

Pour one out for da homie, Pablo Escobar.

They look so happy.

Maybe they should have held him up with his arms draped over their shoulders Weekend at Bernie's style.

With all the global corruption, it’s amazing to think he’s the one who was targeted.

It’s like US paying for a money laundering scheme in Ukraine. Why are we dumping billions into that country, when others are way worse. Why was Escobar the focus when China is peddling so much to this country.

Mark Bowden's book Killing Pablo is awesome. Check it out if you're interested in the subject.

The irony with Pablo is the U.S. didn’t give a shite about him smuggling coke initially. They only started to care when he funded that communist insurrection group to try to overthrow the Colombian govt because they kicked him out of the Senate

Had Pablo not tried to get into politics he likely survives a lot longer by continuing to pay off the police and sticking to drugs. His vendetta against the government and targeting of the police was too far

Guy was an interesting character though.

I don't think so. The real head of the Medellin Cartel wanted it that way. The old man may have been the smartest drug kingpin in world history.

The US wasn't on the same page on the Cartels value in the 80's and probably even today. The CIA and the DEA have 2 different agendas.

ESPN did a 30 for 30 called “The Two Escobars” about Pablo, the drug lord, and Andres, the soccer star, how they were the two most important Colombians at the time, and how their lives were intertwined. Very good documentary.

I mean he only bombed an airplane that killed 110 people. Killed countless police and innocent civilians.

What is fascinating to me is the guy made over 15 billion dollars and died basically broke.

The Devil's minion.

The frickin' guy blew up a passenger jet just to kill, I think one person.
