You can swap the bracelet for a strap on pretty much any watch worth a shite.

With the tool that costs like less than $5 it takes a couple of minutes. Band is almost never a reason to get or not get a watch.

I own all of the except the Mako is the XL version. Have a blue Seiko Sumo and a re-released version of the Giugiaro Seiko on the way. Basically any Seiko 5 Sports auto can be considered a best buy too.

Broke, do you like the turtle reissue? Seems a little bulky.

Buddy just got the Steinhart OVM, still think the 007 looks better....

Are Seiko's decent watches? I've tried wearing a watch a few times but usually quit after of couple months. My last was an Orvis with a canvas/leather strap that I liked, but got uncomfortable in the summer, so I stopped. I want to get a decent metal band watch, but don't want to spend a fortune on something that I may shelf after a couple months, but at the same time, I want something decent. Like $100-150ish, and Seiko's seem to generally be around this range (or less)

Eta: I've seen Citizens in this range too. Which is better: Citizen or Seiko

Over their entire range? As good as anyone else. US market generally doesn't get the better Seikos, have to order those from gray-market retailers. I'd put a Grand Seiko against any Swiss brand in terms of quality and ahead of most of them for durability and accuracy.

YES

For the money, there isn't anything better.

What kind of watch do you like, dive watch, dress watch, etc?

Which is better: Citizen or Seiko
I have both, but prefer Seiko. I have a Citizen Diver and EcoDrive that are both great watches, tho

The Grand Seiko really is an incredible watch, but I think it's a little out of his budget.

Yay to almost any iwc.

Although the price of that iwc is slightly more than the other watches being posted here.
