272 uniformed NYPD cops file for retirement after George Floyd death

An NYPD source suggested the recent departures could signal a coming crisis for the 36,000-member department, which also faces a $1 billion budget reduction amid the “defund the police” furor.

“It’s an all-out war on cops and we have no support,” said one veteran Brooklyn cop, who is retiring next month. “I wanted to wait for my 30th anniversary in October, but the handwriting is on the wall.”

People don’t want zero cops. They want cops that know how to interact with the community and not be Wild West, hair trigger count that escalate rather than de escalate situations.

He has been corrupt and crooked for 29 years and couldn’t wait it out for 4 more months?
He would rather lose his retirement than face his transgressions that he has already done for 29 years. Coward. ETA: his name isn’t produced in the article for a reason.
Defund the corrupt Sheriff departments, politics shouldn’t play a part in how a community is policed.

Most of the protest videos that you see feature fat lesbians screaming very unkind things to peaceful cops, right in their faces. Who the frick would want to be subjected to that for an entire shift?
