I guess Toyota is just replacing all those engines for fun.

Yes or no?
Yes. I bought one 8/6/2024 that was made in Japan and had it trucked/transported from a dealer in Cypress, TX to my house in Santa Fe. People claiming it has little power are full of shite, the torque will put you back in your seat. It goes like a billy goat in CO, through ice/snow up/down switch backs, etc. Passed at least 8 significant wrecks through a lot of snow with poor visibility going to Gunnison for a K9 trial, had to break ice and snow out of the wheel wells to keep going, etc.
It does have a stiff suspension, some may not like that (like my wife). I get roughly 19 mpg all around running 91 octane, but that is a lot of mountain driving and living at 7,400 altitude. Only problem I have had was the windshield cracked in about 14 degree weather and had it replaced for $800 which was a good deal. If you have long legs you may not like the bottom seat. Get on the Landcruiser forum and you can get an idea what owners think about the LC. Need to follow the break-in period on the oil, it stinks like hell on the first change.

My use is just street driving. Coming from a tahoe.
My buddy did this and hated the Land Cruiser. He thought he was going to like it but after a while he wanted something bigger. He does have two kids though. He’s back in the Tahoe

They look bigger than a 4runner. I have owned a lot of 4runners.
They’re not. I own a 4Runner now. They’ve downsized since about 2023 to a mid sized SUV.

Jury still out on that engine.

I was sort of considering one (or the GX) before I bought my
latest truck. Never drove one. Poking around on the lot I didn’t like how it is possible to reach through the front wheel wells and easily touch the engine. Seemed incongruent for an off road purpose vehicle to not have some type of splash covering.
And the back bumper cover on the GX was flop around flimsy.
And I heard they constantly beep at you about things.
The 250 with the square headlights is a cool looking rig though.

My Tundra does this. Drives me crazy. It beeps if a hit a pothole. As if a beep is going to help me notice that.
Hell, if I drive over 3(?) hours straight, it beeps, shows me a coffee cup and suggests I take a break.

Well, I bought one yesterday and so far I love it. My only complaint so far is the center console storage is way too small.

My complaint for the 200 series as well. The cool box feature takes up a lot of space and seems like a gimmick to me.

My wife and I were looking at a new Landcruiser two years ago. What turned us off the most was that it had some cheap plastic on it that made quality a concern. As an example, I recall on the bumper there was some plastic piece that looked really low quality.
