Hanks portrayal of this challenged individual and making that character sympathetic to all of us who were Firrest`a contemporaries was great acting IMHO

I remember seeing this in the theater as a kid with my dad. When the feather started blowing around in the wind, my dad, in his best Butthead voice says, "is that toilet paper"? I couldn't stop laughing.

decent movie, I still don't get it about Tom Hanks, he's made gazilliions being about the most mediocre actor/accent butchering actor in the world, but people keep on paying ?

I don't necessarily like everything he's done, but I loved most of his movies before Gump.

And don't forget about Toy Story.

And people like to hate on forrest gump, but it's a great watch.

Hanks was great in his time.

I have never seen anybody criticize cgi in a time where cgi is all movies are about these days

One of my favorite movies (hence my handle). One of the rare times the movie was better than the book.

but it wasn't these days, kind of new back then, sitting next to John Lennon, having LBJ check out your arse? and with the music of the day soundtrack? not a whole lot of acting skills involved

ETA: except pronouncing Jenny as Denny, oops, my bad!

Such an overrated movie. A half retard carries a torch decades for a disease-ridden, druggie whore.

Pure Americana plus so many quotable lines make it a classic in my records but Shawshank is the GOAT.

I liked Tom Hanks until he came over to my house and ruined my Black Panther Party.

Pretty sure this is the first time I've ever seen such an opinion about Tom Hanks.

It’s just a reaction post. Looking for attention.

I wonder why they never made “Gump and Company?” That book was interesting:
Forrest played for the Saints, Forrest Jr designs a system that uses pig shite to power a whole town in WVA, Forrest Sr blows it up...
Forrest cleans strip clubs in the French Quarter are some of the highlights...

Because they screwed over the author in some sort of a way that pissed him off royally, so he decided to write a sequel that was impossible to make. Or something to that effect anyway. Thats what I remember anyway.
