How is Lafayette crime situation? Don’t hear much about it like NO, BR, Shreveport.
Lafayette is fine. Along with the surrounding cites of Broussard and Youngsville. But size Lafayette crime is nothing really. It's in areas and now in downtown due to the rise in non white in the area clubs.

The motel 6 and waffle house in the background are an excellent touch to that gif.

The Calvary isn’t coming. After the bullshite they pulled in 2019 no one wants to be a cop. You can’t increase the salary enough to attract anyone. More cops and prisons is the only way this gets fixed, and that’s not an option.
Kind of off topic from Allison Rice but relates to the crime issue in Tigerland.
In November, my 19 year old son had his jaw broken on both sides (thus wired shut for 6 weeks) while walking to his car in Tigerland. He was jumped from behind by 4 unknown guys. The one that broke his jaw had a hard cast on. Cops were not able to get video.
I was telling an early 30s year old black cop the story while getting my 20 year old daughter’s car back from being towed — totally different story. The coo said yeh i have a wife and 2 young babies, and they pay top dollar to patrol Tigerland, but i won’t do it, and neither will a lot of my buddies. He said, tell your son if I’m not willing to patrol Tigerland, students shouldn’t be willing to hang out out there! Especially around closing time!
Last week right after the Southern VS LSU game ended, 5 shots were fired around tigerland. It’s crazy over there. And this is where the students go regularly. Nuts! My son’s friend was videoing something and you could hear them clear as day. & It was in the news for a few seconds. (My son was not there, but he showed me the video his friend took.)

He was being a smart arse by bringing up Lafayette. Of course Lafayette is 1000 times better than BR and Nola. His trolling didn't need a response.

No one obviously. I was just talking to myself really. I am livid how our cities are after decades and decades of slow decline. I’ve been a productive citizen and have tried to make it better. But it’s a lost cause and I’ve been a fool. I see no other option other than to say my goodbyes and get the frick outta here. That’s what my post was really about. Just don’t give a frick anymore.

Nothing except she was going home and shot to death in her car.
Looks like this happened in front of Cajun electric lighting. I’d be shocked if they didn’t have security cameras. They carry very very high end light fixtures. So i think we should know something soon. Hopefully.
And tgrgrrrrrlll said she was staying with her friend while she finished working and her friend turned her car one way and allison turned the other : (
It’s thrgrrrls cousin (the friend). Glad she’s safe though.
I also read somewhere that she may have been turning around at the RR crossing to avoid sitting at the train

Unfortunately you get two dudes in hoodies at night unless they got a good face shot it might not be helpful. Hopefully they touched the vehicle or something and they can get some physical evidence there or around the crime scene.

I read somewhere that she may have been robbed too, but I am not sure if that’s true.
No signs of being robbed or anything removed from the car per BRPD.

I don't have the answer but everyone hates the government but wants the government to "do something." There needs to be community and family-based action to take back the neighborhoods. Like someone said earlier (maybe another thread) taking away community schools has farked us up. Where is the faith-based community?
This is not a government problem. This is a family, lack-of-consequences, lack of respect problem.
Much deeper than Mayor and police.
Why are people assholes? That's the root problem.

I think what pisses me off the most is that piece of shite George Floyd got 2 funerals, statues, and a golden casket, but we are going to let this girls life fade into obscurity. I don’t know if I’m ok with that. The law abiding citizens of the country have the resources to start a movement that makes BLM look like a picnic, but we don’t. We keep waiting. We keep hoping somebody will come fix it.

Surprised it wasn't marketed as "In Tigerland" or "Near Tigerland"

Could have been like that lady in Sherwood Forest a few years ago. She refused to unlock her doors and get out so the guy shot and killed her.

Sounds like that place closes at 10. Otherwise that area is a little isolated at that hour. Some houses and small businesses.

Radio at is open until 2am but it’s a few blocks away from where she was. It’s closer to CHS.
