Buying a new car is always a luxury. More power to you if you want and can afford them easily. That's rad. But, don't get it twisted. Buying a new car is almost always a luxury expense.

"surficial "--abbreviated version of superficial? I like it!

It's actually a geological term used as a descriptor for surface features as opposed to subterranean features.

As for getting a can of "fix the truck" and spending an hour doing it yourself-now that's just not a good idea for a brand new vehicle.. Ford surely has a fix for it and the results will be superior to the diy guy in the driveway.

Not necessarily for this this type of problem. We're not talking about a factory defect inside the engibe or the transmission, just a little surface rust on a part that will likely get rusty in a few months of normal use anyway. If that were the case don't you think they would have done so before shipping it out? They're more than likely going to put it on the lift and do exactly what I plan to do, and I won't have to waste a day or two for the dealer to do it.

quote:

I would be much more concerned about spending 75,000 for an F150 than I would be about this minimal amount of surface rust.

I didn't spend anywhere near $75000 for mine, more like $44000

We judge you back, but then just think to ourselves, "poor fricker just needs to get a life" and we move on.

I have a 2016 F150. I only paid $37.5 so half what the guy in the article did.

Drove mine home, and later that day saw liquid dripping out from underneath. Took it right back. It was a hose. They had to order the part, so kept it for a week.

But that was 5 years ago, and no issues since.

I do need to crawl under mine now and look around.

I can get you in at 72 months at 3.5% with $10,000 down and title to your home.

Not the bad part of this whole equation.

The early adopters that are enthusiastic fans of whatever product they are buying? Those guys?

Ford should get it right for them. That's their die-hard fans that have proven to have low enough standards to remain loyal to a company like....Ford.

More complaints from TFL Truck guys.

TFL Trucks

I recently purchased a new 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid. It’s an XL work truck crew cab 4×4 with an FX4 off-road package. I have owned it for about three weeks and 645 miles. Many of you have asked me if I am experiencing any rear axle rust issues since several other owners are reporting this concern. Here are a few images underneath my truck, and also the rear axle of my 2021 truck compares against an older 2020 Ford Raptor that TFLtruck owns.

Meh. Cheap paint. Won’t affect integrity of axle one bit.

Chances are that rear end is the same rear end used for years.

Surface rust on the doors or hood would also not affect the integrity but nobody would accept it.

Completely unacceptable for a vehicle that price. But you have to expect some substandard crap if you buy a Ford.

my Toyota parks at house with driver side windward to saltwater bay 300 feet away. in ten years and 135 thousand miles I have had to replace the front and rear break rotors twice do to corrosion. Other side still okey.

No relation to ford discussion, just thought you should know this
