Brilliant idea buying the first year model of a new vehicle from a domestic manufacturer

Ford has only been working on the Bronco design for the better part of 10 years and probably more so in the last 5. This thing was supposed to hit production last year so I would bet even though it is a Ford that most of the bugs might be already worked out. Also, they aren't recreating the wheel with the motor and most of the body is modular and the frame is off the Ranger so I doubt there is gonna be a shite ton of issues with this vehicle.

Have you seen one in person? Much less impressive than the promotional pics. I was disappointed.

Anyway, the old man tells my 12 year old self, "come on son, you need to learn how to negotiate with these people."
The sales guy throws out the price and the old man counters. The sales guy says these exact words, and I know they are exact because they were seared into my brain.
On my first truck purchase dad handled the negotiation. After an hour or so I was over it and just wanted to pay the negotiated price. Dad wanted another $500 off the cost. The manager said no. So dad wrote a check for the agreed price less $500 and said take it or leave it. They took it. So just keep haggling if that’s your thing.

I went in to buy a 2007 Avalanche. Had all my figures for the options, less rebates and incentives. I was in there for an hour haggling with the guy. He said "hey check out this 2008. ill give it to you for xxx." I gave up and took it. No idea if it was a good deal or not.
