Valid point, but the average consumer doesn't pay attention to that and looks at the mere HP numbers.

The average consumer isn't buying a hellcat or a gt500.

P/W ratio is like night and day, though

That's a very good point. Two weekends ago, I saw my first GT in person at the shopping center on Burbank. Easily the best looking supercar I've seen since the F50.

There was a special edition Mustand at the Ford dealership here in Greensboro with 1000hp. It was around $90k I think.

Wonder what kind of wizardry Ford will have to put that much power to the ground?

This is definitely the greatest time to be a car guy, and our domestic companies have stepped up their game.

It's amazing that you can drop 70k on a fricking camaro or Mustang and compete with 150k-200k cars on the track.

And I get that the Demon has a little more hp than 760 but for some reason Ford has always done a better job as far as acceleration goes putting the power to the ground. Amazing feat with IRS.

I like both cars but I would think objectively the edge for putting power to the ground goes to the Demon. It also has IRS and puts 800+ hp and 700+ tq to the ground efficiently enough to lift a wheel in a 4500 lbs car...through an automatic transmission. Some seriously over engineered parts in that thing.

Something about that rear spoiler is a turnoff.

Agreed. Looks like something put on the back of a civic. Of course with 700+ hp a spoiler might be necessary but they can do better than that.

at the track and on the street i've seen first hand that the Mustangs often launch harder, have better 60' times and more often than not win the race.

That's my personal experience.

its not going to be on all of them. It's part of an optional carbon fiber track pack.

Don’t discount that at all, but a lot of that comes down to driver mod too. I was just spec sheet racing, for lack of a better term.

understood. I've never seen a Hellcat lift a wheel. Have any videos of that? I'd like to see.

I understand Gear Shift timing is going to be much faster in an automatic. But the fact that this is only going to come with an automatic transmission deserves a

Was talking about the Challenger Demon, not the Hellcat. Demon has a more hopped up Hellcat motor making 840hp/770tq on race fuel. Also comes with a box from the factory that includes a second set of rims (radials and skinnies). There are videos of it online lifting the front when on race fuel and radials (not that high though).
