My point was Chevy has been "caught" releasing times using different tires than "stock".

Ah...I gotcha.

Corvettes are for those that can't afford Italian.

In other words, trashy.

Spoken like someone that cannot afford either.

I see our second minivan owner has arrived.

"Trashy"
Google 'Corvette owners and St Jude' and see what all these 'trashy' owners around the country do for those sick kids and their families. While you're at it take a look at all the relief projects the local clubs are involved with year round. If that is what you call trashy, I'm glad and proud to be included in your definition.

I say it breaks into the 6s but doesn't match the Huracan Performante or GT2 RS

Seems my guess is roughly where Chevy expects to end up:

Chevy aiming for sub 7 minutes

Not a fan of the spoiler but it’s still a sexy car.

Looks like Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin may be the one (or one of them) doing it this spring...

Cool.

The problem for manufacturers now is they get such small windows for full-length runs and they want cool temps and a dry track the latter is a rarity in the Eifel mountains. I have a beer bet with a friend so I hope they get a good run in even if it causes me to eat crow (and buy beer). I still can't wrap my head around sub-7 min laps in a street legal car. Then again I can't wrap my mind around professional lap times, Sabine Schmitz's 10:08 in a diesel Ford Transit van is mind-boggling. While it is a bridge to gantry time that is only 140hp in a 3500 pound vehicle with the aero of a house, high CG and narrow stock street tires...not all heros wear capes.

I thought the exact same thing. Although on the grey/black one it looks fine with it.

Especially in the 2nd pic from the front of the vehicle. I would still probably prefer no spoiler.

It’s a gorgeous vehicle.

That spoiler isn't for looks on this car.

And it’s optional.

As a car guy, it’s great that Chevy is bringing back the ZR1 again. But Corvettes just don’t do it for me. At least not the C7. Would rather have something else in that price range.

Correct, the pictures in the thread are of the high wing that produces 950 pounds of downforce at speed.

This is the best picture I could find of the low wing

Curious what your choice would be in the up to $130 range. Without much thought I suppose mine would be a 911 GTS

911 for sure. Not 100% sure on the variant, but something in the family. Can’t think of a more perfect sports car in that price range.

I picked the GTS because it is the fastest most complete 911 for the price. It has most of the goodies people add to the 911 C2 S and has 30 more HP and is a widebody. The GT3 starts at over $140k and you can't buy one for near that.

Love the GTS , but 911s are just so popular here, they are everywhere. You need a GT2/GT3/TT-S just to be different. Even the TT is fairly common.

Great cars none the less.

Dallas and all big cities are packed with 911s, all of Southern California is the worst. I think the best option is to dig into the paint to sample catalog with something like Miami blue but $7k for paint is a bit steep

But I really like the GTS in Carmine red with the std black centerlocks which are technically Turbo S wheels

Agree, absolutely LOVE that Porsche offers any color in the color pallet that was offered in company history... For the right price of course.

I love the skittles colors on Porsches but not only do you have resell to consider but you also can have a long wait before they will shoot the color you pick. Sometimes the "special colors" (not the custom ones) work to your advantage. I remember when people were speccing their GT4s and kinda liked Ultraviolet but didn't order it then the window for shooting UV ended and there were no more UV GT4 orders accepted and UV GT4 prices went through the roof.

UV on a GT3 RS

Only thing good about that interior is the stick...it's terrible.
