@TropicalTidbits: *If* 96L actually does miss the trough, models will likely correct even further west. Think Ike, Katrina...ridges get underestimated.

He was referencing the ridge's effect on those two storms, and how it would apply here.. not those two storms actually happening again.

I forgot to mention the part where my MIL will also be in a condo with me.

How is this going to effect OB? Is it now moving towards the gulf?

It is in the current model runs but until it is actually labeled a TS the models will still shift. The longer it stays south the worse for the Gulf states

I was starting to think it would really be a fish once the NHC went all in with the north turn.. but I should've known better that the models would change. They probably will wait for one or two more runs before updating their forecast. So far it's moving south of where it's supposed to be.

Well, you may be getting a refund on your trip and not going.

However, if stuck in a condo with MIL while terrible weather outside there is no way I would survive 2 nights. No way.

I would be a good juror for you. Justifiable homicide.

If Aaron Broussard were still around, he'd be calling for a voluntary evacuation right now.

And that same model track that ran through NOLA this morning was also labelled XTRP on stormpulse. I'm no expert

It doesn't take an expert to see that one of those lines isn't like the others
