OHIO (WJW) — Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) introduced legislation Tuesday that would provide a $2,000 monthly payment to qualifying Americans until employment returns to pre-COVID-19 levels.
According to a press release, the Emergency Money for the People Act would mean $2000 monthly payments for those over the age of 16 who make less than $130,000 annually.
The release states that while the CARES Act was “an important first step” to help those impacted by the pandemic, “it does not provide nearly enough support for American families.”

Don’t worry folks, as long as we still have the US Navy and good pilots we don’t really need a dollar to be actually worth anything. Just print some more.

Where is the money coming from? If you just print more money there is going to be rapid inflation, and that defeats the whole purpose of this as a fix to the economy. Alaska's UBI is funded by oil reserves. What is funding this?

Good faith that the federal government will pay its debts.
I think we're well beyond that point now. Setting aside the stimulus we would still have to cut federal spending by 20% across the board then freeze that spending for 10 years just to get the debt back down to Bush II levels.
