I’m glad everyone of the worldly, street wise, would’ve been a Navy Seal types on here knows exactly what I know or don’t know, have seen or didn’t see, where I’ve been, and what my life experience has been, thanks for saving me, and of course, always correcting me!!

I’m curious if this could have been a scam, girl walks a drunk guy out of the club and dares him to swim in the water. Then steals his phone and wallet? But he was found with his wallet. Why was his phone found first and still usable?
Was his wallet found with him? I thought it was pulled out of the water before his body was found. It may have been found close to where his body was eventually found, but I thought it was before. When I read about the wallet I was wondering if they would be able to determine if anything was missing, and now with finding the body how likely based on clothes worn and where he usually kept wallet would it have come loose on its own and ended up where it was found in an accident scenario.
Some other questions I have are how the person arrested obtained his phone and who left with him and then never contacted the authorities (at least the cops didn’t say the person had).
From what I could see in a map and street view/look around and outside of currents taking the body there from elsewhere this is a strange place to end up after leaving the bar with someone who hasn’t come forward or been reported missing as well. Coming from other side of the port or from the side of the walkway above seems more accessible without climbing some gates if they are kept locked at night. I don’t know the dates of the look around images, but in pictures that walkway above the water has a lot of graffiti. At night that specific small section of the port seems more like a place someone goes looking for trouble or being led into trouble (I have no clue what that section is really like outside of the images I saw from an unknown time period). Considering he had just gotten to Barcelona and was his first night out there he would have needed some local help for both, and he reportedly had some when leaving the club.

Thanks for letting us know you either lied or were too stupid to realize you saw Muslims.

I went to Barcelona for Mardi Gras, we saw a few Muslims (mostly taxi drivers). But we did hear complaints about them. A tour guide, waitress, and Customs Officer each complained about how bad it has gotten the past few years. What was interesting the Customs Officer was from Norway.
The below was already happening back in 2016 according to Wikipedia.
quote:
After Catalan and Spanish, the most spoken languages in Barcelona are those from North Africa, such as Amazigh and Arabic, followed by Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi, Mandarin Chinese, Romanian, English, Russian and Quechua, according to data collected by the University of Barcelona.
quote:Not all of the foreign born are from muslims countries, but these numbers also don’t account for the huge increases in immigration all over Spain in the past 10 years.
In 2016, about 59% of the inhabitants of the city were born in Catalonia and 18.5% coming from the rest of the country. In addition to that, 22.5% of the population was born outside of Spain, a proportion which has more than doubled since 2001 and more than quintupled since 1996 when it was 8.6% and 3.9% respectively.
And this from back in 2014 also from Wikipedia
quote:
The province has the largest Muslim community in Spain, 322,698 people in Barcelona province are of Muslim religion.
Wiki has not updated the numbers since. I also doubt any number can account for all illegals as easily as legal immigrants or documented/processing asylum claims.

This isn’t about illegal immigrants
It’s very much about illegal immigrants. They account for almost 80% of the crime in Spain. Now, it may not be them in this particular case, but it’s not unreasonable to know they are a problem and may be responsible.
But your other point about being incapacitated by an attacker or group of them is on point.

we invited a young girl who is the grand daughter? of some people we know casually who is studying abroad in Milan, to go with us to Cortina, she went and didn't want to a ticket to the night event we were attending so she just went bar hopping, when the event was over she wasn't at the agreed on meeting spot to get on a bus to the train station, our daughter told us to go to the bus and she'd find her, she was pretty tipsy, and was with a group of guys that were just salivating, my daughter grabbed her and ran to the bus(last one of the night,) and barely made it, the girl was trying to hit up on a young guy sitting near us during the bus ride, smart kid, a young hottie too,

Oh, c’mon 777, don’t be like that.. I, for one enjoy the stories of your life experiences. It kinda reminds me of my grandfather when he’d say.. “now c’mon over here boys, let me tell you how things were back in my day. Back when newspapers were a nickel, and you could go to the pictures for a dime! But that was before they had them talkies on the big screen! There weren’t no fancy flyin machines or cell phones neither! If you wanted to call somebody, you had to walk 5 miles to their house, no matter where they lived! Boy, we had it tough! Most of the time we didn’t have any food! We ate dirt 3 meals a day and milked cows during school so we could wash it down!”
I’m just joking with ya?? I just happy to know that people your age can still type and get around without a scooter.

Most Americans don’t know how to behave in foreign countries.
It’s just a fact. When you leave our soil you are not untouchable.

As expected, there are security cameras throughout the marina. The Spanish newspaper El Pais is reporting now that police sources say they've obtained footage from the area showing University of Alabama student Jimmy Gracey walking alone towards the dock at Port Olimpic before falling into the water.

Someone would have be to be way closer to legally retarded than clinically average to believe this.

Well, I've never been to Spain, But I kinda like the music.
And the ladies are insane there. But they sure know how to use it.

My point was more that most of this thread is acting like Europe is a third world, dangerous mess and frankly I haven’t seen that to be the case
Much to the dismay of many this appears unfortunately to be a massively drunk kid that had an accident, which is awful
I also don’t care where you are, unless you are in a college town, if you are stone cold drunk stumbling around at 3AM there aren’t many cities you will be safe in, stateside or otherwise
