Congratulations. You've just stumbled upon another aspect of the Nazi T4 program, forced sterilization.

I hope for your sake you're just a young dumb fool trying to look cool and edgy on the internet. Otherwise, God help you. You're a psychopathic monster. Do you completely lack any vestige of humanity?

Once The State is in charge of all of our health, both mental and physical, it makes perfect sense that The State would euthanize severe cases of mental and or physical illness when cure of such conditions is hopeless or when cure expenses are deemed too high by The State.

Of course. Unless the sick person belongs to the elite, protected political class or is a crony of the same.

So, because I don't extrapolate isolated incidents into the 4th Reich, I am a monster?

I can live with that. Hell, if people wanted to kill babies, they can already do it and shrug their shoulders and say well I guess SIDs gottem.

Bingo. And the scary part is it seems from the posts in here, many in our own country are perfectly fine with this.

Bet they'll change their mind in about 40 or so years when it them that's not considered a "burden" on society.

hope of any cure is already used as reasoning for the vast majority of abortions of downs babies

This is kinda true. Testing during pregnancy(that is NOT 100% accurate) can determine if the fetus has down's.....giving the parents the choice to terminate the pregnancy at that point. Coworker of mine had one for health reasons(not just to test for Down's) and was told the fetus had Downs. She refused to abort and kept the baby.....and a completely healthy baby was born....without Down's. Imagine if she had chose to abort based on test results.

Absolutely. It's beyond comprehension that you would feel the need to mention this obvious fact. The Masses are even now being conditioned to accept as Fact that the Ruling Class is not subject to the same rules. Best example: Hillary Clinton -- is she being treated like any other US citizen that placed Top Secret national security data on a commercial civilian network server? No. In fact, seems to me that the people who want to vote for her already are good with the notion that Hillary is not subject the Rule of Law.

People should probably read the article as well....especially those supporting such a decision:

quote:

She also had physical difficulties and was almost entirely bedridden. Her psychiatrist said 'there was no prospect or hope for her. The patient experienced her suffering as unbearable'.

quote:

Treatment was abandoned last year after independent consultants were called in and said the case was hopeless. The consultants also said that despite her 'intolerable' physical and mental suffering, chronic depression and mood swings, she was entirely competent to make the decision to take her own life.

quote:

The patient, they said, was 'totally competent' and there was 'no major depression or other mood disorder which affected her thinking'.

So wait, she's so bad off that NOTHING can get through to her but a single treatment, which is stopped because some "consultants" say it is hopeless? But she is in right enough mind to make a decision to end her own life?

Obviously, a ton of details are missing, but even if you accept the idea of assisted suicide (and I don't), should the State be the one doing and administering it? That's the slope. That's the problem. The State has other concerns that are in contrast to holding something like life in the balance.

Devaluing life, as this kind of law and program would do, is very much an endorsement that existence can be hopeless. That is dangerous ground. And with the state involved in that...how can anyone support such an entanglement?

You're right, I'd rather the children with terrible, noncurable diseases suffer for their entire shortened life than provide an avenue for a different way to the same outcome.

What a monster I am.

Only a matter of time before progressives start pushing it here.

I'm 1000% behind it and think it should already be an option here.

The suddenness of a suicide destroys the family left behind. If there were mental health facilities and professionals available to guide a suicidal person through the phases of depression this country would be a much better place. Imagine instead of the stigma and ridicule that are commonplace, a person could get some help, get some answers to questions or situations that seem hopeless the drug problem in our country would be lessened greatly. Self medication by alcohol and narcotics would decrease and people would generally be happier or be on the way the being happy.

The sadness I've seen for years hovering over the families of my friends that have committed suicide doesn't appear to be going away. I can't help but think If there was some way for my friends to have truly communicated what they felt deep inside rather than keep up a happy-go-lucky always having fun facade they'd 1) have gotten some help 2) given their families understanding that they could be at peace with 3) gone through some counseling that might have them alive today 4) given them an outlet to express their feelings and not have bottled it up inside to where it got to the point of hopelessness to where shooting themselves seemed like the best answer.

Some people go through things that haunt them for their lives, I can't understand their emotions but I can have empathy for them not wanting live through it any longer. If we're going to live free, then a part of that is having a choice on how to end our lives. Taking control of the end is often the only thing a person has control of. That adds to the allure of ending your own life I believe.

I support the same for terminally ill patients too. If there's zero quality of life, it's more humane to allow someone to say enough is enough.

According to Wiki, in Europe over 90% of all downs babies are aborted. Here in the US the rate is a little under 70%.

My guess is that, once The State is responsible for paying for everybody's health care, The State will announce that at age 70, a person's access to healthcare will not be the same as for a person of age 20. At some point, The State will deem it better to require the 70 year old patient to "take a pill" rather than subject The State to costly heroic efforts that are beyond the State's obligation to provide reasonable health care to its Subjects.

Why pay for suicide when Gravity is free. Are there no tall buildings in Holland?

fricking people... This is the culmination of the millenial generation. I can't believe that the state actually administered it...

But on the other hand, I'm pretty impressed that they decided that if this crazy bitch wants to "end it all", then frick it, we're not paying for shrinks and treatment forever... Let's get this over with...

NEXT!

You are jumping from legally killing a live child with an unbearable condition that cannot be cured to aborting a child with downs. Those are two entirely different topics.

Yes, it does suck the rate is so high, and I personally don't think abortion is the way to handle that situation. But its not fair to judge someone for a decision when you have never walked in their shoes.

Totally logical to expect The State to provide REASONABLE health care to the masses, not Heroic efforts and not overly expensive efforts.

The State will decide what's Reasonable, or perhaps it will be put to an agency committee to decide what is Reasonable Health care efforts.

Downs babies are already aborted in Europe at over a 90% rate. Don't think for one minute this condition will not be used as a legally justifiable reason to kill a child with downs. The prevailing attitude is already that they're better off dead. The abortion rates of downs babies proves as much.

Terminally ill patients are an entirely different argument.

When someone wants to commit suicide becuase they are clinically depressed, one would really have to question (given the nature of mental illness)weather that person is competent to make the decision.
