I claim my 20 year old on taxes. Do they get 500 or 1200 stimulus?

It goes off 2018 tax year but I assume your 20 y/o will get $1,000

ETA or $1,200

I’m asking also, I obviously don’t know. I have a 21 y/o

I’m assuming you’d get $500 for claiming them. Unless they file their own taxes, then they’d get $1200.

So a kid that just turned 18 and is working, but didn't work or file a 2018 tax return, they get nothing?

How are they going to determine who had children in 2019? Or those people shite out of luck?

That’s why I mentioned I’m asking, I don’t know. Many folks haven’t done their 2019 taxes yet.
