Insurance is expensive in Louisiana because of your stupid arse laws. I write in 5 states and every time I write in Louisiana I am shocked at how expensive it is. You can thank the personal injury attorneys. MS AL FL GA. And TN don’t have those laws and rates are way less.

Makes sense. LABI or Lawsuit Abuse do any studies breaking down which states have direct action or not? I know they did one for jury thresholds a few years back

Why do you think rates are so high in LA?

Yall dont forget the high costs of fixing all the tech in vehicles today. I heard of a test where it cost like $5k+ than the car cost new to fix a pretty minor front end deal.

People driving around 70K vehicles isn't helping lower rates any. Bump into one of those and thats 20k in repairs. Takes a long time of zero additional accidents for the insurance to recoup that money.

There needs to be a luxury tax on vehicles over 50k. Not my fault you think you need to drive a car that is financed for 5 million years.

I can write you anywhere in Louisiana with over 15 carriers. You really have to be shopped with quite a few as they all have niches that can mean a great rate for one client but horrible for another. Info@fullclover.com if interested.

Who are you with? I would say time to shop around. I am this close to giving USAA the boot.

Ours went down $20 per month for some reason. I have no clue why. Me and the wife have both gotten tickets in the past 2 years and she has at least one claim. Geico is our carrier.

I switched from geico to progressive and saved. Old car insurance is the best ... 190 a year per car for full coverage with high liability limits.

Yea, that's not a thing.

Good deal... I guess I am referring to those who act arrogantly about it and act as if they should be paying next to nothing for coverage when at any given point in time they could have a need for a huge payout, bigger than those they are pointing fingers at for keeping their rates elevated.

I mean all of insurance is basically a socialist program, but you don't want to be caught without it when you need it.

What?
Insurance is not a socialist program. It is the selling of risk of loss.

When Obama care forbids the ability to gauge risk and assign premiums actuarialy, then that is no longer insurance but it is a socialist program.

Obamacare is not insurance.

I meant more so that I pay my insurance for the money to be distributed to others that have gotten in accidents since as I said earlier, I've never made a claim on my insurance.

Mine went up 28% after a claim that cost $2100 to fix our car and total the one pictured below. Still can’t understand how this was a total loss from the damage done.

There is no cost from an independent agent. They do not make money unless you buy insurance from them.
