Linemen are some of the biggest work-related drama queens but there aren’t that many so you don’t see/hear it that much

I grew up with a couple and every time there’s a snow storm or they work a Holliday it’s like they’re going to fight ISIS or something. They make decent $ tho

I’ve done this on a 345kV before. fricking amazing feeling and definitely an engineering bucket list experience.

Not gonna shite on a lineman in this thread. One of the most dangerous professions and you have to be perfect at your job or you don’t go home.

Not a lineman, but whenever there’s a hurricane they step up and travel in caravans to the trouble. I’ve got mad respect.

Yep. It’s a tough arse job and not for the faint of heart. Definitely not something I could ever do. Especially after a crash on my buddy’s property where one guy unfortunately didn’t make it. They told my buddies that had they not reacted the other 2 probably wouldn’t have made it as well.

frick no. They had a couple die last year near me. Working from a chopper and holding back in they fell. Line came in contact with the big power line and burned right through it and both plummeted.

Tough shite they deal with. Definitely don't be preoccupied on the job.

Guy I grew up with found out a out about 10 years ago he had a half-sister in South Florida. His dad was a lineman for Gulf States Utilities (now Entergy) and knocked some woman up during “storm work” down there in the 80s. His father then basically told him it is common that they slay poon all over the country when they go on storm work.

That's not just in the lineman category. If you travel for work and decent coin, the hoochies will be there.

I am a lineman for the county And I drive the main road Searchin' in the sun for another overload I hear you singin' in the wire, I can hear you through the whine And the Wichita lineman is still on the line I know I need a small vacation But it don't look like rain And if it snows that stretch down south won't ever stand the strain And I need you more than want you, And I want you for all time And the Wichita lineman is still on the line
