Sad. Criminals that flee should be liable for any damages and injuries that occur during the chase.
Run from the cops and someone dies, you go to jail for murder.

Addis PD will be civilly responsible but unless he did something egregious there’s no reason for him to be charged.

He wrecked into someone while speeding and killed them. Clearly he wasn’t in control. That seems “egregious” to me

bullshite. It’s awful that it happened, but the alternative is just letting the criminal go. If we’re gonna go to that mode of thinking, then no murderer, rapist, etc will ever be apprehended again. Shouldn’t give chase for a lesser crime? Then it’ll be open season for thieves, drunk drivers, drug dealers, vandals, etc. Criminals break the law, they need to be caught. Simple as that.

That stretch of La 1 is dangerous as hell. Doesn’t help when perps and cops are flying around.
Les Miles’ sister died in a wreck on that stretch of La 1. My sister got in a horrible wreck at the same intersection a month before his sister died.

There were already multiple agencies en chase. The Addis officer was speeding to join the chase as well when he killed the teens.
The alternative isn’t “kill people wrecklessly or let the criminal go”

There's a red light at the intersection now after we fought with DOTD to put it there My prayers to the families and friends of those Brusly High students
