Typically cringe douchebags, but they perform a noble and necessary service for the 1st Amendment all the same, like the Church of Satan in such endeavors.
This.
It’s jacksssery, but necessary.

Agreed. But I always wonder, as with most videos, what are we not seeing. What was done/said before the officers respond to the "auditor", what are they doing behind the camera to get the reaction, how can we be certain that these videos are not being edited to help the content, etc.
I am certain the video is edited to make the cops look bad....but they continue to do it time and time again....knowing they are going to be on Youtube looking like an a-hole. They also seldom make an arrest or when they do the charges are dismissed so whatever editing is taking place isn't helping their cause any at all....

Love them. When we stop exercising our rights, we lose them.
Seriously if one ever needs their rights it is probably due to an encounter with a LEO from some agency or another...seldom do ordinary people encounter a government agency or agent who routinely and by design skirts and even ignores the constitution in the same manner police are encouraged and expected to do by their leadership. Most of what you get with government agencies and agents is incompetence and an irritating load of red tape that leads you to give up...not having your rights violated.

It teaches police the law. Most coops think they can demand id if there is reasonable suspicion, but they need reasonable suspicion OF A CRIME.
I will admit that I did not know that in some states cops couldn't just ask for your ID because they were curious about who you were. I have always dealt with cops with the utmost deference to them as public servants and also because of the power they have to change lives in negative ways. The law does not requite this, however, and it should not be required in a free society where people have rights.

There is an auditor called Bay Area Transparency who does a ton of public agencies. The govt workers who get paid from tax dollars from the public are the worst. They have terrible attitudes and don’t know the law. Even the attorneys. They will try to trespass you from a public space. 99% think they you need permission to record them in public.

First of all, there are plenty of unedited videos that answer this question. In most cases, if the cops are going to violate someone's rights, they don't need to be goaded into it.
Second of all, even if there is goading, so what? All these cops need to do to not be goaded is walk away and leave the auditor alone.

Cops are not above the law, and the police state, whether it be federal, state or local, is not your friend. Covid should've showed all of you what police will do under the guise of, "public safety." When their master (the politician) gives them an order, they'll blindly follow it.
No idea why you got any downvotes.
Those are facts.
NOPD stole guns from law-abiding citizens immediately after Katrina.
Thats a damn fact also.
People have damn short memories.

News NH Now is one I follow. Amazing the rudeness of public officials in New England states.
Some auditors are douches but imo they perform a service, namely just how stupid people are and untrained Leo's can be

B.A.T. is, to me, the most entertaining one out there. Dude does not give a frick and takes shite from nobody. Is a little preachy sometimes, but seems to know the rules pretty well.

Some are really asshats just trying to get in the news. Had some in my town show up at city hall and try to walk through the halls of office space videoing with their phones.

City hall is a public space.

I love watching these videos. Cops and the general public are so fricking ignorant it's depressing. Seems like a majority of sheeple would be happier in North Korea. I love seeing people and cops put in their place.

Police are fine with goading Americans to break the law (e.g., prostitution stings, aggressive undercover drug sales, plot to kidnap Governor Whitman, etc) but have a problem when a citizen puts them in a situation where the cop is tempted to break the law.
Police shouldn’t be allowed to mute their cameras, which happens often in bodycam videos.
I like Jeff Gray - Honor Your Oath videos. Military veteran who has run into some real winners. When he sues, he asks for amounts like $1,776.

As bad as douchebags that burn out in intersections using chargers and challengers

I think it's funny how butt hurt the cops get
I guess they don't post when cops leave them alone
