198 ensnared in Jacksonville food stamp fraud totaling $3.7M

Most cash them out for 50 cents on the dollar. Some can even trade them for drugs.
The total is for only FOUR retailers caught in the sting. Extrapolate that to the real number of stores in the country that run this scam and the losses to fraud on SNAP are legitimately in the billions.
I'm sure the number has increased exponentially with the explosion in mobile retailers.

Sheonna's Seafood is the sting champion. $1.2 million in food stamp fraud in less than two years for these guys. They narrowly beat out Lawaun Walker's produce ($1 million) and URKO Ballers ($1.1 million in groceries supposedly being sold out of a Hummer).
I'm not sure there's a program the government does a worse job of administering than this one. Well, DOD purchasing, maybe.

All forms of social welfare have rampant fraud and abuse. People have learned how to gain the system over time. I support work requirements for the able bodied for any type of welfare.

They actually used to be real " Stamps" .. my grandmother who worked her ARSE off as a seamstress for 40 years had to be on them late in life and I remember seeing them
Then they made them the debit cards to get rid of the stigma of food stamp users so they would look like everyone else swiping your credit/ debit cards... freaking pathetic.. and those people have zero shame.

There was a Russian woman constantly buying caviar with food stamps in a fur coat when I bagged groceries. Pretty sure she was buying them cheap in this sort of thing.

They do. That's a fact. But the top 4 BUSINESSES appeared to be run by people of color, or they took the fall. Lets not lose site of the fact that these were BUSINESSES who were guilt of these. I know how much the OT hates small business

THis is exactly why they need food delivered to their doorstep and should not be allowed to cheat the system. And by them I mean food stamp recipients no matter race.

Homeless here get their meals at the shelter. They'll take their food stamps and buy expensive meat, sell it cheap and use the money for booze and drugs

You think a single one of those "mobile food retailers" ever actually sold food?
Hell, at least Sheonta bought a trailer to try and make it look like it might not be fake, but URKO Ballers was supposedly selling groceries out of a damned luxury edition Hummer.
