He got dehydrated and went into rhabdomyolysis. This could cause electrolyte imbalances and acidosis which could lead to cardiac arrest. It’s not clear from the article exactly what happened. My guess is that there was an arrest that led to an brain death with withdrawal of support 4 days later.

6 under the age of 25 is the average per day for sudden cardiac arrest. Around 2k a year.

My brother got seriously ill after helping some flood victims after one of the hurricanes flooded some homes. We think it was from the mold that developed in the sheetrock and insulation.
