I drink about once a week, maybe twice. Usually stick to weekends, usually end up binging when I don't mean to. What does this make me?

Normal. Not a puss. Not a teetotler. Just normal
Unless you break shite, cuss your kids, fight other men.
Then you're retarded.

Nothing better than a cold beer some days. I quit drinking during the work week unless I’m at a work lunch or dinner. Dang sure gonna have one have one at the camp or out fishing though.

2 of those were the usual at first.

Hats off to you...
Congratulations.
A real good friend of mine battled alcoholism. It took him twice to rehab to beat it. It was taking his late 40's body an made him like a crippled old man. He has been clean for about 5 years. His body is much better and back to almost where it should be now.
Stay strong. Best of luck to you.

Nah.. our bad choices make life interesting.. you gotta risk it once in a while or you become bored and uninspired.
Wouldnt trade my "regrets" for a reset. It's the yin/yang, embracing the light and dark. You gotta explore the shadows too..

Congrats man. And as you can tell by my username, I am completely the opposite of that and likely always will be.

Congrats. I quit cold turkey in 2003 after 15 straight years of 365 days a year fairly hard, consistent drinking. I was a benign drunk, few ever saw me drink.. except for the women staying over...no daytime drunks, no DUI's, no domestic issues, but was a huge psychological crutch I didn't think I could get by without. I didn't drink until I'd get home but would pour a tumbler full w/ 16oz. of straight Crown on ice, sit and drink, go to bed....every single day.
Then when I married, upon moving in, my wife would pour each bottle I bought down the drain...she never said a word nor did I respond, it became a silent ritual but didn't last long. After a few weeks, this simply became too expensive so I just stopped...cold. Honestly never missed it... ..surprisingly, felt no repercussions. Much better off for it. Drinking tends to make one more stupid than one realizes or is willing to admit. Congrats again and may you have 15 more years of the same.

Apples and oranges... plus in my experience, regardless of any prior understanding you may think is in play, the capricious nature of women insures unforeseen contingencies may, at any time, diminish returns on #2 when property damage or auto paint losses are in the outcome.
I propose it's the simplicity of circumstance that makes:
Having to hold a fookin hellacious piss.. ..LONG past the outermost limits you'd thought a man capable of.. ..at that last moment, certain you'll rupture or pass out from pain, hosing your pants... ..FINALLY.. you're able to just BARELY.. make it to a toilet.. ..muster your last bit of strength to get your zipper down.. ..THEN.. ..ALL OF THE SUDDEN.. ..THE MOMENT OF UNCONTROLLABLE DELUGE and that MAGNIFICENT STREAM of ALL-ENCOMPASSING, BLESSED RELIEF...
what is truly when, "There’s not a better feeling in the world"

This actually made me want to hold my current piss and wait for it to become that urgent, just so I could experience that feeling of euphoria.
And I had pretty incredible sex just last night

Congrats! That’s incredible.
To you, and everyone like you, I’m absolutely amazed and proud of you.
I’m always surprised how many people I know who have this kind of will power, you’re all stronger people than me.
I drink way too much and I hope I can cut it back when I get the wife pregnant and I hope I never have a reason to just quit cold turkey outside of “I’m ready”, if that time ever comes.
