Senate parliamentarian has spoken. Democrats cannot include the $15 minimum wage in a reconciliation bill.

quote:

"We're going to honor the rules of the Senate and work within that system to get this bill passed," WH chief of staff Ron Klain said last night, making clear they won't attempt to overrule the parliamentarian's ruling.

The hilarity of people thinking Biden would be moderate is too much.

I am hoping this gives them cover to abandon this BS. They can blame the ruling and not bring it up again. Anyone with a tenth grade education knows this is a horrible idea.

They can overrule it with a simple majority.

It wasn't going to pass anyway which is why they aren't pushing it.

It's as dead as O's remaining career at lswho.

Whatever thoughts are, it needs to be it's own bill. It would be disgusting to use reconciliation to do this. If the can't get the votes, maybe the dems need to compromise.

7.25/hr is not a livable wage no matter how you calculate it. Minimum wages should vary across the country.
