I had read the chart wrong.
Deaths are up 23% above average.
23% above average isn't that high compared to some places, some places are 40% or 50% above average.

Given the covid death count reported and yet only being 38,000 above...does that mean less people are Dying of other causes than on average?
Posted on 7/18/20 at 4:05 pm to CrimsonFever
So 38k people have died from Covid instead of 141k
Posted on 7/18/20 at 4:05 pm to CrimsonFever
Were these people going to live forever?
Yes Covid is bad for certain groups & sometimes young people get it & for whatever reason their body can’t fight it & they die
But destroying millions of lives is not the answer

That patient's cancer is now incurable.

Virus gets in the masks, people don't wash them at night. As simple as that.

Seems like it.

It is Covid related absolutely. We shouldn’t be shut down over it though

Oh and where’s the China graph on your pic?

Murder is also up. And deaths from cardiac events due to fear of going to the hospital
Many of the excess deaths are Covid, probably 80-110k. Overdoses alone are up 80-100% in most of the US.
The hysteria and shutdown probably killed 30-60k so far this year.

I know some think the death toll for Covid is well under the 30,000 that's been reported by the CDC
What? The CDC has reported over 140k. So yea, based on your info maybe 140k seems overblown.

I meant 130K, you're right though its over 140k now

Wait so we only have about 300,000 people die each year? In a country of 330 million? How is that?
Posted on 7/18/20 at 4:14 pm to CrimsonFever
This is the real death count I want to see.
eta: Im confused how this graphic is interpreted. How did you arrive at 38000 number?

What do you feel like the average annual rate of death should be?
Edit: yeah you’re right that has to be wrong

No

All oof the lockdowns have affected death rates from other causes. For example, automobile deaths must be way down?

Where did you get that number? The way im interpreting this graph, the y axis is showing deaths per week. so approx 40k (low end estimate) x 52 is over 2 million.
The graph is also seeming to say 149k more people have died this year than normal
