How about we admit that police are trigger happy cowards?

at some point, even the most ardent police supporters would have to think that some of these cases could easily have been avoided...

I support the police, think they absolutely serve a great purpose in a civilized society, and generally appreciate the hardwork and dedication they display in fulfilling their job, however, there ARE some absolute shite head police that have no business being given a badge and a gun... that's where if we had more stringent hiring, better pay, more extensive training, actual repercussion for intolerable actions, more positive community interaction in crime prone areas, etc, we'd be MUCH better off, in our dealings between police and the public they serve....

This is the type of incident that should be front and center for police reform. This is an incident all people could get behind. To bad it doesn’t fit the racial narrative so it gets ignored.

A guy I knew in high school had it. He was overly nice to everyone to the point of being a little creepy I guess. Different forms maybe?

and how will defunding the police help at all in any scenario?
Not a single one screaming for that can answer that question. They don't know.

Umm maybe police who have absolutely zero psych background, de escalation background, or common sense shouldn’t be deployed to deal with a teenager having a mental break.

Mental health pros should be sent instead.

All cops know how to do is yell and escalate situations.

I'll give you a hint: the victim and his crimes or lack of crimes is irrelevant.

There is literally nothing stopping you from starting your own marches.

Agreeed but we still need police, and they still need to be well funded. Actually the police probably need more funding so we can have better training, stricter admissions standards, and higher pay so we don't have to hire shite people to do such an important job. How the hell anyone concludes that police need to be defunded because there are a shitty ones out there is beyond me. We got a bunch of shitty teachers out there, but no one is screaming defund the public education system.

Yes we need police. Defund the police does not mean get rid of police. Simply better allocate the funds
