9mm was fine for my daughter. My dad took her to training a few times over the past 2 summers. It obviously depends on the kid though.

My 14 yr old has been to 3 gun safety and pistol training classes. She can shoot a Glock and break it down and clean it afterwards.
As an Army veteran, I made sure all of my kids learned at an early age how to safely handle, fire an AR 15, break it down and clean it and put it away safely. They are grown now and all have their own guns and know how and when to use them if necessary.

That is a happy ending.
The 12 year old should receive accolades for doing positive work.

Though it's a nice story, it can't be a good psychological thing for a 12 year old to have killed anyone. That kid is going to need some serious counseling

If only he would have turned the rifle in last month at the gun buy back drive. A crack head would still be alive.

Should've been a sign there...
Never break into a house on Winchester Lane...

Dead baw's brother is in the comments, apologizing to the 12 year old, and his family, for the existance of his POS brother.

Maybe he’s not a pussy. I would not have needed counciling for that when I was 12. In fact, I’d have slept perfectly fine that night.

Second amendment in the house, way to represent young patriot.

Young man made the best out of a bad situation. I assume his eyes have seen things that we as parents try and shield our kids from even knowing exist during their adolescent years and beyond. He ended one miserable existence while saving his own life and his moms. Hopefully mom hit rock bottom and gets her priorities straight. Not Guilty X Infinity.

Thanks for posting this heartwarming story, with all the bad news, this type of news gets buried & that’s a shame

So why say mom needs to get her priorities straight?
