Is it within the realm of possibility that the boy had an undiagnosed medical condition such as a pediatric cardiomyopathy? Perhaps the freezing weather was only a contributing factor to his death?

For those going through this mess I feel bad. It should never happen. But this country is more worried about paying for amazon, netflix, disney plus, and hbo max than fixing infrastructure. Until that changes this will continue to happen. Sorry for everyone impacted. It's shitty.

Texas law. Unanticipated death, especially so young and presume healthy

Maybe so. Why would it even be mentioned if someone obviously froze to death? Is it that hard to tell? They are already reporting the story as if it happened.

That is what we do now. Facts are assumed and evidence/cause be damned.

No debate from me as our priorities have been upside down for quite a while. We have 3 children and 10 grands and it is quite pleasing to see them being properly reared....middle class folks and values

Instead of buying luxuries people didn't just buy some decent winter clothing or a heavy sleeping bag. That my issue. Plenty of youtube videos of people sleeping outside in -20 Temps.

People in Texas living in a trailer that got down to 12 degrees inside ain’t affording thermal blankets, jackets, and sleeping bags.

Show me someone living in America and there is a good chance they waste 100 bucks each month on something they dont need to survive.

I don’t disagree.
Which is why the asshats on here pointing and laughing at Texans dealing with a freak winter storm is hypocrisy at its finest.

Damn that freaking sucks. Did the family not have a lot of blankets for the boy to wear so he would be layered up.

I'd imagine if I were in this situation Id have my kid in 2 pairs of socks, thick pants, shirt, sweatshirt, heavy jacket, and atleast 2 blankets.

Surely that's gotta be enough to stay warm.

There were at least two children in that trailer; the first cold night a year and a half old cousin slept beside the kid who was to die.

How did that younger kid survive and where did he survive?

Also, the adults didn't notice until 2:30 in the afternoon that the child had died?

Lots of unanswered and unasked questions.

I'm not laughing at Texans for facing an obstacle in life. I'm laughing at people blaming the electric companies when people don't have basic survival gear and spend their money on luxuries

but I guarantee you I could keep my 7 year old son warm enough in a mobile home so he wouldn’t die.

Yeah that child would be in my shirt. No way he’d have been in his bed “with sheets” alone.

My company works with people who have economic issues.

It's so odd to see people who make $1K a month with a family of 4, and yet they are spending $200 on cell phones and data plans.

Blankets, sleeping bags and jackets are dirt cheap.
