What makes a person do this...

Oh and I feel bad for the 4 kids.

Officers found hundreds of animals inside the house and a detached garage. That included rabbits, rats, mice, hedgehogs, chinchillas, turtles, fish, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, and a ball python.

quote:

The owner watched while they pulled the animals out.
She says she is justified having that many animals "If they can't handle them, why are they taking them? We have newborn babies who are going to die. We have pregnant moms who are going to abort or are going to die. They can't handle the stress of this," Babs Galkowski said.

quote:

Officers also found several dead animals scattered through the residence in various states of decomposition or stored in a freezer.

quote:

Galkowski says there's an explanation for all the dead animals found frozen. They're food for other animals.

"We do have some bodies of animals that have passed they're in my freezer I have animals in there that I go to the raptor project with that feed raptors in Minnesota," Galkowski said.

We went adopt a dog this past week. Apparently all the animals with B names came from one home that was hoarding them.

Over 100 dogs came into the surrounding shelters from this one Home.

We always seem to get one or two cat hoarder stories around here per year where they have to bulldoze the house afterward.

I love the idea of taking in animals and giving them a good life, but I couldn't manage more than a couple at a time.

And they say Noah didn't have enough room on the ark. Think again God deniers. Ha!

I'm not really an animal lover, and I'm the complete opposite of a hoarder.

This story is sensory overload for me.

Your title is misleading OP. You said "1,000's of animals" but it clearly says "hundreds of animals" in the article

Animal people are so frickin weird. If you want an animal living inside a house with you there’s something wrong.

These kind of people are crazy. They think they're actually helping these animals.

After looking at the pics of all the small rodent-type animals, I'm thinking that at least the ball python was well fed.

Says "up to 1,000" and/or "about 1,000;" i.e. hundreds not thousands. Still a lot.
