Yep.

Difference is back then marrying your first cousin wasn't exclusively for gumps. And even if you didn't marry that closely, people weren't as mobile back then. They most likely married a third or fourth cousin without realizing it.

So if you go across your family tree at 1000 AD, you'll see some people multiple times.

Except it has to be more than that. Earth is only 6,019 years old and the population had to rise in a steady line and not some exponential growth.

30 generations doesn’t even seem like that it’d be 1000 years. Probably a 20-year generation would be more accurate.
