I had my last cigarette on July 1, 2019, so I quit about 8 months ago. I can't imagine smoking another cigarette. The smell of smokers is a real thing. I can smell a smoker from 10 feet away.I

I gained about 10 pounds.

It will be 6 years inAugust for me. I only gained 20 lbs. but I also went from field to desk in my career at the same time which I think had more to do with it.

Almost. Not quite heroin but everything else from alcohol to cocaine. Plus have a group of friends who all got sober from opiates. Quitting smoking is without a doubt, the single hardest thing to quit. So yes, I’d say I know what I’m talking about. Quit smoking three years ago after a two pack a day addiction. But then again I don’t know what I’m talking about, so why bother?

Dead wrong and a dumb statement. I quit smoking 11 years ago and never gained a pound.

Sure, I've gained 50 or 60 pounds

Next week I’ll be 3 months with no smoking
I’ve gained 15# so far, in addition to the 10 I gained last year with the change to working from home.

I’ve noticed a difference in the few extra dollars lately, thanks for posting your #’s, that’s excellent motivation for me to keep it up.

Congrats

A doctor would confirm that every single person who quits smoking will gain 40-50 pounds? Is that what you're saying?

Congrats on the anniversary. I quit after I hit 50 and was smoking a pack and a half a day. I just went cold turkey and haven't put one in my mouth since and that was 17 years ago this past New Year's Day.

And yes, food does taste better when you give your taste buds a break from all that crap you were inhaling.
