This trend seems to be one of the latest strategies for mentally ill children to get attention. I work in a behavioral health hospital and the adolescent unit patients are obsessed with transgender. When a new child arrives, they ask “what are your pronouns?” At any given time, about half of them are changing their names to one which is common for the opposite sex. .

Five or so years ago they were obsessed with being gay. I have a cousin who is just about to graduate undergrad. When she was in middle and high school there was, what I thought, an unusually high number of "gay" kids in her class. Fast forward to about a month ago when we were talking. She got her yearbooks out and was showing me who "used to be gay". I'd say 75% of those kids are no longer gay (boys and girls).
That was one thing. You experiment, you figure out what flips your switch, and you live your life. If those kids turn to altering their bodies, physically or chemically, that is completely different. It is much more difficult, or even impossible, to undo that. Being "gay" for a while just gives them experience and life lessons. This isn't that.

I'm late to the thread, but this poor child's "testimony" was so scripted it just REEKED of a Karen mom behind the scenes.
All I could focus on was how terrible and "woke" this poor kid's mom undoubtedly is, not the message (although the message is bullshite anyway).
His mom is surely having a field day, getting off on all the attention and virtue signalling points she's getting vicariously through her child. It's fricking sad and disgusting.
And I'm saying this as a 33 year old married male with no children. I'm not a disgusted religious baby boomer or anything of the sort, just a typical millennial male at heart. frick this.

This is no exaggeration, but my sister thought she was a dog named 'Star' for at least a year of her life from about 6-7 years old.
She refused to eat at the table and instead insisted she eat all of her meals out of a metal bowl on the floor. She'd bark at people and "paw" at them, pant like a dog, and even wanted a collar. This was only taking place in the privacy of our own home and we all laughed at it knowing it was just a silly kid phase she was going through, so we played along knowing she'd eventually grow out of it.
We still laugh hysterically over it to this day, she has since grown up and has a daughter that's surpassed that same age range.
This is all to say that kids will go through crazy, stupid, inexplicable phases and do really weird shite that should in NO WAY be taken seriously by the adults in the room. My mom is a saint and the nicest lady you'll ever meet, and she jokingly and playfully played along knowing this was only a stupid kid thing.
I have no doubts that there are moms like mine still out there, who would find their son sleeping in doll panties one night and realize it doesn't mean a thing other than them being stupid kids.
But every so often in the post-2000 world, the new age woke progressive mom happens to be in this position and the stars align for her; she realizes she can get some serious virtue signal points and attention and it's GAME OVER for the poor kid just being a stupid kid. She's gonna cash in on the Instagram and MSM fame and finally "BE SOMEBODY!" all her friends and followers can "admire."
It all boils down to the parents - particularly the moms - wanting that popularity and admiration they missed out on in high school or elsewhere.
"My kid is different and we have such a progressive household that's better than yours! - Mom" should be scribed on these poor kids' tombstones when they undoubtedly hang themselves in 10-15 years.

We will see what we’ve done to these kids the same way we currently view the lobotomy. Don’t blame or ridicule the kids, blame the parents and doctors.
That's right and I want everyone to pay close attention to the Suicide numbers and the Parental or Doctor killings in the next two decades bc if these boys are having real surgeries rest assured one day they will seek retribution for losing their cocks.
