Same here. I own my house outright, along with my vehicles. Have zero credit card debt since I don't even own one of them and haven't for over 30 years.

Live within my means and if I can't pay cash for it, I don't want it. I've never been one that has to "Keep up with the Joneses".

After you are dead, it is hard to collect from a corpse.

Unless there are substantial debts or wealth to collect off of, most consumer debt is written off after death or debt collectors stand in line at probate.

Im 64, and I do not like figs, candy orange slices, chihuahuas, handkerchiefs, or local news.
Haven't read a Reader's Digest in years.
I did have a Buick LeSabre that I liked.
