Their race is doomed with that mindset; instead of tracing to LBJs Great Society destroying the black family.

Deep down Morial knows this but saying so won’t get him elected nor will it get him $50k speaking fees. He’s all to happy to sacrifice his own to line his pockets.

Same ole story for Mobile. Tons of potential ruined by lack of execution.

Really has a chance to be a great city but can’t even go downtown on NYE without getting shot. The location of this shooting is literally in the heart of dauphin bars and restaurants.

City council too busy worrying about refusing to annex WeMo because it would add too many white people instead of improving the city.

Murders are actually down in mobile, but the thing is they usually stayed off in no man’s land.

This is twice in like a month or two bullets got chunked down that area of Dauphin which is, again, basically the heart of downtown. Hell, the Saengar is right there.

The city has got to invest in gentrifying the trash out of that area but they won’t.

I think that’s why this shooting struck me as atypical for Mobile. We all know 8 Mile and Pritchard are bad, but I would have thought that downtown area was fine.

True. That technology certainly didn’t help Allie Rice in BR.

MPD said they have one male subject in custody from last nights shooting. He is receiving medical treatment and will be transported to Metro Jail and charged with murder. Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson has released a statement on last night’s shooting, “Like so many others, I am outraged at the violence that occurred last night in downtown Mobile. I am beyond disgusted that the actions of one or two individuals with suspected gang affiliations have taken a life, injured others and tarnished what should have been a safe and fun event.

quote:

This afternoon I met personally with the leadership of the Mobile Police Department and our federal law enforcement partners for an after-action report. A task force has already been launched dedicated to finding everyone responsible for last night’s shooting and holding them accountable. We will use every resource available to MPD and my office, and I have complete confidence that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.”

Not sure comparing this event to what goes on in NOLA helps anyone’s argument

Less than 24h and this cats arrested with the mayor calling it out.
