Picc, last I heard you were in Alexandria.
Sorry I didn't get your latest life update and file it in my rolodex.
Hope you can survive for 3 or 4 days of cold weather and ice. Stay safe.

The condescending nature of your posts is taking over a thread that needs to be informational at this point.
Sorry. I had no idea this thread was the only source people had to understand how to survive 3 or 4 days of cold weather and ice. We should get the word out to people in Michigan and such.

We all focused on this weekend but for the rest of us south of I-10, next weekend is starting to look pretty interesting.

Keep up, jerk.
Someone gave you bad info. My life has been simple. Pineville, Baton Rouge, Little Rock. Alexandria has and will never make the cut.

At least people will have supplies already.

I am updating my rolodex now, Picc.

What a passive aggressive comment to make. Where else should I be going, aside from an informative weather thread with meteorological experts as well as people who have vast experience with harsh winter weather, to ask this?
I’m a Louisiana native who really isn’t good at cold weather.
I’ll tell you the same shite I tell my kids. Before you open your mouth, ask yourself is this necessary and/or kind? If neither, shut up.

Last night we talked about an ice storm and realized we hadn't done a year end gutter cleanout. ( Late dry fall and the maple dropped polynoses and leaves just before Christmas).
We don't need ice filling the gutters and the weight pulling them off the house.

I am sorry. I wasnt trying be passive-aggressive. I figured it was pretty on the nose, actually, and correctly condescending.
I do care that you stay safe but telling me to leave a thread that will sit idle with few updates that you can get from any meteorologist or weather site is silly. No one ITT knows more than any meteorologist or prerpardness site.
I would argue that you would be much better off following your local news channels on Facebook for updates, as I do, than this thread if you want true updates that are catered to you. This thread is for discussion of those updates which I was doing. I am discussing the storm and the impact it will have in my area just the same as you.

There is no reason to freak out like people are doing if you are along I-10. You will be able to get back to a store within a day in a worst-case scenario. That has been true since the first major ice storm I remember in 1997 and will remain true this week.
I live near I10 on Houston and people are freaking out

Our local news channels information, for what I’m trying to decide, is clear as mud. It’s inches of sleet and “also freezing rain but not a lot for Little Rock but could but doubtful but prepare for outages”
Basically they have no idea and are covering their butts, I’m sure. If this were me and just two older kids, it would be easy. Throwing a 5 and 2 year old into the mix changes it. They can’t hang like the older two.

Alexandria and Pineville are the same place.
Grew up in Alexandria. Lived in Pineville a few times. It’s not like you’re talking Dallas vs Fort Worth. It’s the same folks.

Well, no one in this thread knows more than that as well.
Prepare for the worst and hope for the best
I said numerous times that I understand the concern if you are further up north.
In all seriousness, stay safe.

Too early to start talking about next weekend’s forecast?

Yes. You will overshadow Picc getting the details she needs for this weekend's storm if you dare discuss anything else
